E Cigarettes / Vaping

Post by lowphat » Fri Jan 10, 2014 11:43 pm

Gday guys,

Anyone here a fellow vaper? I'm brand new and have been vaping 1-2 months, only exclusively for the last 2 weeks :h:

One of the best things I've done for my health and fitness - it's amazing knowing what my lungs really CAN do, now those hills on the pushy aren't so bad. Not to mention I've saved a shit load of money on cigarettes. From around $150 AUD a month now down to $50-$60 AUD a month, and this I believe is because I'm still experimenting with different juice flavours and parts etc. I would save a lot more money if I didn't have to import my juices with nicotine in them - unfortunately you can't get it in Australia as nicotine is a poison - go figure, a healthy alternative to cigarettes is deemed unsafe for the Australian public.

I'm currently using a Joyetech ego-t 650 (USB passthrough version) and a Kanger Mini Pro Tank 2 and 2.5ohm coils - I plan on getting a range of different coils to experiment with though. Juicing multiple flavours from Virgin Vapor - just amazing flavours truly. Their "best damn tobacco" flavour is really a stand out, also vanilla latte :U:

I may be only new to this but I've done a bit of research so I'd be glad to help anyone perhaps looking to convert from analogues to vaping. I highly recommend it and I've noticed it becoming quite an engaging hobby aswell.

Some good beginner reading: http://www.ecigz.com.au/ecigs.doc

I would personally recommend tanks / clearomizers if you're going to start out with a proper set up (those little e-cig things I've never tried, but I've heard there's no comparison). I also wish I bought a variable voltage battery to begin with, but that will be on the agenda soon (Vision Spinner VV 1300mah is the way to go for price/quality ratio from what I've read and seen).

Easy, mate!

Yeah I bought a little set up in August and have tried a nice little variety of flavours - apple, water melon, kiwi, chocolate, and vanilla - all very nice. I was smoking AND vaping until November when I quit cigs and I stopped vaping about three weeks ago. Lung capacity is ridiculous now.

Thank fuck you're off that Old Holborn blue. BLUE!

It was such a good tobacco too mate! I actually ended up finding a non chemical tobacco here in Aus thank fuck - extremely similar to American Spirit as well, beautiful tobacco. Unfortunately I still need tobacco for my "erbs", old habits die hard. I vape that too though and a 30g lasts me over atleast a month and a half (still have the same pouch since I bought my setup).

You must be fit as fuck now mate! How's your routine going? Did you notice a health difference after not vaping as well? How did you find it weening yourself off of e cigs rather than baccy?

I'm fairly sure the general consensus of the Dubstep community is that baccy for zoots doesn't count, so you're in the clear there ;)

Lol i'm not sure about 'fit as fuck', I just don't have the constant pain in my heart that I had before
It's hard to say about the health difference after not vaping as I got ill soon after I stopped. I've no idea if stopping had anything to do with that or if it was just coincidental.
Coming off baccy wasn't so bad as I was just chaining the e cig. I steadily reduced that over the next few weeks until I was very low on juice and then I reduced sharply again until I ran out. There were no (clear) physical withdrawal symptoms and cravings are as good as non-existent. However, I am away from home so fuck knows what'll happen when I get back and go out..

everytime i smoke a real cigarette it makes me cringe about what it does to ur lungs, so yes i use these things. i first head about em years ago but at that point they were like 80 bucks to buy this whole kit and blah blah blah so i never did it.

but then like 1-2 years ago our 711's (not sure if u got those) started carrying disposable ones that cost like 10 bucks and last 1-2 packs worth of cigarettes, and then you throw them out when u've finished them. i've been using them since then. they're not bad, and have nicotine, so that's all that really matters to me. the ones i use are blu disposable.

Image

@laszlo or whoever - have u used disposable and have u used the kits? is it worth it to invest in one of those kits? the flavors do sound pretty nice.... but does it cost less money? is doing the whole thing with the juice annoying?

@op i never considered myself addicted to cigarettes/dipping and i never really did either on a regular basis so i never felt any sickness when i stopped smoking. i just started buying the ecigs whenever i felt like buying real cigs.

I never used the disposable ones so I can't compare, I just liked the customisation/customer care you get with the kits - you can pick the charging method, how hard or easy it is to take a drag, flavours, battery types and then the aesthetics.
I would say it was worth it for me because I was trying to quit and I have + it cost maybe a bit less than the equivalent amount of tobacco. If you want one for continued use then maybe you'll have to spend a fair amount as mine was middle of the range (£50ish), bought a spare battery with it and both batteries didn't last one day by the time I came to quit. Maybe I just choose a crap product, dunno. No shits given though.

I haven't used those nor seen them. Let me do a bit of reading and I'll find some reputable UK suppliers and see if I can price something for you.. I'll edit this post later unless someone chimes in first ;)

To give you an idea on juice usage though, my tank holds 1.3ml of juice - I generally fill it up roughly half way if not just under for the day at work and it will last me 'til bed time. However, I do work in an office environment with relatively set breaks. If I'm really craving I will have a few puffs in between but I don't do that often. I got just under 13ml in a sample pack from Virgin Vapor in the US for $12 - $13.50 (depends on whether or not you want the 100% non alcohol version or not).

Being at home is a different story, I will often find myself vaping for 10-20 maybe even 30 minutes straight whilst reading on the computer or something like that, so I definitely use a lot more sitting on my ass.

My battery is a Joyetech branded one. I charge twice a day, however I have a USB pass through version which basically means means you charge via a USB cable (you can by AC adapters for wall plugs) but you can vape whilst you charge. Which is real handy. I really couldn't tell you how many cigarettes worth, but if I was smoking tailor mades I'd smoke 25 a day.

I get the disposable Infinitis and they're the equivalent of two packs.

I started using the disposable ones because I was working really long shifts at a restaurant and couldn't smoke. I was a pretty heavy smoker and a 13+hr shift with only a single smoke break was grueling. I could take a quick hit or two of the e-cig and it would totally take the edge off. These were the Njoy disposables.

This lead me to switching over to an eGo style setup and quitting smoking all together last May. I originally went with a Vision Spinner variable voltage 2100mA battery but have switched to smaller batteries. My brother has a Lambo 4.0 and a swear the thing looks more like sex toy than a vaporizer. Way to bulky for me.

I use a Smoktech 6ml tank setup with 1.5ohm single coil cartomizers. I am trying to switch over to pure vg fluid currently but, my default flavors are Watermelon-Menthol, Cola, and Butterscotch. The tobacco flavors just don't do it for me.

Switching to vape instead of smoking has saved me a considerable amount of money but, I was smoking 2 packs a day sooooo.

It is really hard to correlate vaping with smoking as it is largely a different habit for me. I would smoke a whole cigarette each time I smoked but most of the time I only take a hit or two off my vaporizer. I think it feels closer to smoking a hookah than to smoking a cigarette. I go through about 3-5ml of fluid per day.

Nice one ^

You must feel amazing health wise now. Two packs a day is craziness! May I ask what made you go from a VV to an eGo? I'm about to go the opposite way.

What brand of juice are you using? I highly recommend the tobacco flavour that Virgin Vapor does. They do 100% Organic and VG juices. They also do a line that is completely alcohol free in case you have some extreme sensitivities. It's also not thick like normal VG juices so you shouldn't experience any clogging, at least I haven't anyway. Alos out of curiosity what nicotine levels are you vaping?

Switching was like resetting my whole respiratory system. Clear sinuses, no coughing, less snoring, better quality sleep etc. Food/drink are much more flavorful as well.

Most of the juice I get is from High Calibre at 1.8% but, thanks for the tip I am going to look into that.

Is till have a pair of VV eGo and a simple eGo. I got the plain eGo as a back up because I left one of my batteries at my brothers over the holidays. Even though I really don't find myself adjusting the voltage all that much. I did when I was using Dual coil cartomizers but it just drained the batteries too quickly. The single coils work real nice at low voltage. I keep trying to convince myself to by a nice battery setup but, what I have now is good enough.

Isn't there some reports that these e-cigs are dangerous, it can cause cancer just as much as normal cigs?

I've been using mine full time for over a year. I tried various systems but find the simplest works best for me. Joyetech ego-c 650 (totally wickeds batteries are made by Joyetech too) no other brand compares for quality. Dont buy the ones in petrol stations and the like they will break in about 2 weeks.

If the connection on your battery is 510/ego they are comparable with 90% of other parts, including most of the ones sold in supermarkets/petrol stations (but not e-lites, which are crap)

I use kanger low resistance cartomisers, theyre much less faffy than clearomisers or tanks and at £1 each are practically disposable.

The ones they sell in shops say 2 packs but they're not really. I chain vape so would be spending about £12 a day if I used those, but spend under £10 a week on liquid.

Best site for gear in the UK is;
http://www.vapeescape.co.uk - you will find discount codes around the web too.

For juice, look around - I buy 30ml bottles for £7 which last me about two weeks. Totally Wicked and the like charge £15 for the same amount of liquid.

i'd never take an e cig out tho. you look like a fucking sap standing outside smoking one of those. I guess they are nice for smoking when you're in the party itself though.
