not a lot of info on it and the website keeps going down for me so:
The first signs and rumours were leaked only at the end of last year. Many around us said they didn't believe it. No way Pioneer would go 'back in time'. However! This is what we saw just minutes ago this morning. The first presentation of Pioneer of a project they are still working on. As you can see in the right corner they haven't even have a model name for it. There aren't much details to tell you, besides the fact that it did have a USB connection as well, so we could assume it will be a hybrid like the Reloop RP-8000 for example. More later....

All that melts away when the lights are down and the bass is up.

Nice to see some new turntables being unveiled, I reckon it'll probably be geared more towards serato users than vinyl though.

How could it be geared more towards serato than vinyl? They are both pretty much the same thing.

So, Loads of buttons and a usb port?
Strikes me it's going to cost a fucking bomb for stuff designed for shit other than playing records which is ultimately stupid as turntables are for playing records.

Its not like 1200s were cheap...
Imo with the sales of cdjs pioneer is the top dog of the industry now, and theyre just filling the gap technics left behind.

Except they make shite mixers and nothing else worth bothering with outside cdjs.
I don't see the point of these turntables already. They're looking like they're being designed for not playing records.

Just a simple, sturdy, analog turntable. That's all we want. FFS

loads of buttons? I see a tempo range which mk5s have anyways, a start, 33 & 45 and a reset button. granted the reset button is a bit unnecessary but hey.
also:
Update
Well no matter how hard we tried, Pioneer will not reveal any details. Maybe because this public display of this prototype model is merely intended to see and hear what "we" think about this. This means that Pioneer is looking into the market if there's room for a turntable like this. However, the general thought amongst the press and visitors of the MusikMesse is that the chance of this coming to the market is fairly present....
Update 2
In fact, no USB connection after all.

people going on about these like there aren't already quite a few top end alternatives to Technics already available.
Also, unless this become a standard in clubs (highly fucking unlikely considering most clubs cant even be fucked to keep their styli in working order), they will suffer the same issue as most other technics alternatives, in that no one wants to use a deck thats different to what will be used in clubs/ universally

For example, I've always considered the Numark TTX1 to be way better than the Technics in terms of torque/features, but outside of a few home setups I've never seen them.

I could have sworn I had seen pictures somewhere else where it had some more buttons. The internet in my room here is patchy unless I'm in one corner so the pictures on this thread hadn't loaded when I replied
Still I dunno about pioneer. I can't stand their mixers so I'm going to remain skeptical until I can try one of these in person and if they do remotely go down the "hey look we've added stuff for digital djing set ups" route I'm not remotely interested any more.
Also I don't reckon those numarks measure up at all Wub to be hones. Feel really fucking cheap
