Re: UK General Election 2015
Though they are well intentioned, the problem with the Greens is that unless other countries undertake the same radical reforms it's going to majorly fuck us over. Kind of like trying to do communism on a countrywide scale rather than a national scale

have a more progressive income tax system, mansion tax, cut down on tax avoidance, make sure multinationals pay their full tax, get rid of nuclear weapons. thats tens of billions right there without taking any money away from normal people or public servicesSamuel_L_Damnson wrote:if green party can come up with ways to explain where they are going to get the vast amounts of cash they need in order to do all the things they say they will i would happily vote for them

Labour or the Monster Raving Loony Party. I don't think people understand how lucky we've been to have a coalition government, rather than the Tories on their own.
Re: UK General Election 2015
fingers crossed for a tory/ukip coalition

Re: UK General Election 2015
just seen the ukip manifesto, they def get my vote. some highlights:
'UK to leave the European Union. An Australian-style points based system and a five-year ban on unskilled immigration.'
'An extra £3bn a year into the NHS in England by the end of the parliament. Ensure that GPs’ surgeries are open at least one evening per week, where there is demand for it.' (more than labours or tories have promised)
'Abolition of inheritance tax and an increase in personal allowance to at least £13,000. Raise the threshold for paying 40% income tax to £55,000 and introduce a new intermediate tax rate of 30% on incomes ranging from £43,000 to £55,000.'
'Removal of tuition fees for students taking approved degrees in science, medicine, technology, engineering and maths on condition that they practise and work and pay tax in the UK for five years after graduation.' (big up)
' Amendment to smoking ban to give pubs and clubs choice of opening “smoking rooms”.'
'Scrapping of HS2 project.'
'Hold a national referendum every two years on the issues of greatest importance to the public, gathered via an approved petition, provided it has 2m signatures.'
'A “right of recall” allowing for a recall ballot on an MP, if 20% of constituents demand it.'
