How Many people..

Post by seen » Tue May 16, 2006 4:10 pm

Take the effort to actually go to a record shop to buy records?
is everyone being slack and saying there's more choice on the net, or are people doin things propa.

No need anymore... Juno, Boomkat, Independance...

Mind you it's proper dangerous on the bank account being able to buy that many records so quick...

A treck into town to go record shopping is great but requires effort.. Switching on the puter, loggin in, select tunes, order.... I've just been caining the £££££ lately

but worth it for all the tunes that are coming out...

Rather buy from local shops, as it's a bit more personal, and as long as they're not tossers (which thankfully in my experience down this way they're not) it's usually more fun chatting and getting turned on to other stuff, which you don't generally get on the net.

Mind you Redeye's much cheaper it has to be said
Hmm....

if my local shops got what i want, i would always go there first: for support of local business, as well as the fact that i like to be able to inspect my vinyl first-hand...hate when i mail-order, and the plate i wanted shows up more of a cup, or bowl.

diggin is an addiction, which can translate to the digital realm, but sooner or later, the local record store will be no more...

I'm always into crate diggin but there's nothing here in belgium for dubsteppers (as far as I know)... so I buy my second hand old school stuff & my new hip hop 12" in "real" shops & all my dubstep 12" are coming from online shops :?

love buying records in the shop, but most of the dubstep i buy is from internet. Altough in the music mania in Brussels you can find the newest tempa releases and planet mu releases in the genre dubstep.

i buy the most records online because there's only one wimpy record shop in town with horrible prices and no single dubstep 12" in stock. it's even hard to find good dub/reggae records there and they sell their reggae 7inches for € 8 (!!!) which is a fucking fraud!

yeah, there's a nice selection of labels in ghent (tempa, tectonic, mu, hotflush, boka, storming,...) but the really good releases are sold out quickly. They only order 3 copies of most releases, and with me, mate and soul living in ghent those things don't stay in the shelves for long.

I remember when the request line vinyl got into the shop, it took less than 10 minutes to sell all copies.
