Finally a usable photo went up. It's only been a few hours. The innernet... :6:

Honestly am sold on the keys. Such a good price for such a little quirky mofo.

Any vids of the timbre wolf? Have we heard about Behringer's poly? Weren't they going to do a poly? At this point, I think I'd trust behringer over akai.

Clearly I need to use the Volcas sequencer instead of something else.

Actually that Timbre Wolf doesn't *look* half bad. I too am curious about the Behringer poly... potentially a good time to be a budget electronic hardware musician.

To qualify: there are haters that just want to hate, people are slagging that new Roland JD stuff for looks, whatever, it looks at least put together, whether you like the aesthetic or not.

These akai analog products (and I've always thought the apc, mpk, mpd at least looked good) look like shit, imo. Not trying to hate. But the design is just horrible, in so many ways. I swear to you a first year ui designer at an average university could do so so much better than this. It looks like a train wreck.

I guess when I say looks I mean in a more abstract sense. Price/features seem spot on...if there or no major issues, sounds good etc etc. Because yea...that Timbre Wolf...Id try to beat it into looking better if it was an ugly child.

Edit I realize that isnt really a ui issue...what issues do you see? Cluttered?

Also, seriously guys, big up DSF Production on the NAMM front...this is the only NAMM related thread I'm following were it isn't just a punch of nay-saying and talking about how everything is crap and finding the worst in every product instead of seeing potential. :Q:

Price features does sound legit. I think the fear is, and I think it is justified, the fear is that the timbre wolf will just have 4 versions of the rhythm wolf's bass osc, which sounded dead, like a damp card board box. Multiply that times four, and, I don't know, time to head to the dump.

We'll see though. I'm ever the optimist.

Got a real question for you lads though...

Think on this:

Should I sell my virus b to fund a korg polysix?

I think the virus b sounds very good, but I don't get along with it. I spend more time in menus than on the knobs, I don't know why that is. Probably because I've never REALLY learned the b, even though I bought it new, way back in the day. I just don't get along with it... I do, but it doesn't excite me.

This excites me:

This is not a modern analog. This bitch's gut is hanging over its belt buckle, big toe sticking out of its right boot.

:o

Oh wow.

So those $50 drum machines from Teenage Engineering?

Theyre $60... And there's a range of them: a synth, a bass, and a drum... And they sync with each other... AND Korg Volcas.

:o

It's like we're entering a new golden age of hardware...

Holy crap! The ultimate modular/hardware sequencer. Each of the sequencers has 14 control inputs and 6 outputs. I'm in love!

Holy shit that is redic!

I'm just laughing.

Kg what do you think of the prophet 6?

Are you at namm?

And yeah, I think we're heading into the golden age of hardware. That digital era may just be an appendix in electronic musical development. Like digital may come back, but it is going to need to have some tricks up its sleeves, it is going to have to be invisible this time. Like the dx7 was just a brick wall, fuck you digi is here. Think multitouch or augmented/virtual reality may be the next step. But the Dsp has got to be better.

Holy shit is right... "Sequencing sequencers?" Wonder how much that thing's gonna be?

Edit: $1500... Yikes. Makes me want someone to do a software version. I know, not the same, but I ain't won the lotto yet.

Am I being a picky douche over the no MIDI factor? Or should I buy all three and make tunes w/ just those units and shut the fuck up?

You mean that TE stuff?

I had the biggest crush on the Op-1. People saying it has a really high noise floor...

Also, frag, have you considered the possibility that you got a lemon volcano keys?

And who here is going to sell me a kp3+ on the cheeps.
