PK Rig?

Post by knell » Sun Jan 24, 2010 1:48 am

Okay, so tonight on Facebook, Excision's status was the following:

Excision: "Golden tonight, playin on a PK rig, can't wait it's gonna be sick :)"

so... since he's a connoisseur of sound (borderline snob), i took note

i assume its an abbreviation for something?

because googling and doing a search here on the forum resulted in nothing..

but what is a PK rig? hopefully i dont get flamed, im just curious

thanks in advance :w:

sorry, its not fair of me to make a comment like that without elaborating...

first of all, i consider myself a quality snob so PLEASE dont think the negative connotation of the word means that i meant it as an insult, that would be very incorrect

second of all, i made this statement because i witnessed him flame people for listening to his music via YouTube because the quality is shit, what is wrong with you fuckers

i hope he was being facetious, because it is an extreme compliment that people would listen to your music even though its "low quality" ...

sorry for the confusion

p.s. thank you very much for answering my question mista jolly

EDIT: Quotes removed

Don't put quotes around something that I didn't say.

I said: "lol someone just showed me swagga has 125,000 plays on youtube. It baffles me how so many ppl can listen to music at such low quality!"

This is quite a bit different than calling my fans "fuckers". So from now on please refrain from quoting me unless you are copying it directly.

In the same topic i also said "it's been out for months, either buy it or at least torrent it for good quality!!!"

I stand by all of those statements, I don't think it makes you a snob if you dont enjoy listening to 96kbps mp3's. These youtube channels are ripping tunes from myspace which is already low quality, and then putting it on youtube where its compressed even further. If the tune isn't out yet then I can see why but with a tune thats been available since September then why not listen to it in better quality?

If that makes me a snob then every producer that I know is a snob too!

and yeah, PK is a sound company owned by producer Subvert, he designed the speakers with genres like dubstep in mind, I'm going to be buying a system from them myself in a few months :) Check out Shambhala music festival here in Canada in August if you want to see what I'm talking about. You'll love it.

apologies, my memory is shit and foul, and i didnt double check before i quoted, so appropriate edits have been made... ill also go ahead and throw in a few    for good measure, you're still my hero, and still #1 on my myspace (and always will be, although you've never responded to anything ive said, even when i tried to shake your hand in person in CO and you looked me dead in the eye, looked at my outstretched hand and then walked away... until here where i look like a complete jackass, so you may as well have called me a fucker, would have helped my emotional status out about equally :o )

anyway, sorry again, and no more quotes unless i copy/paste like i did in the OP :u:

again, in case you didnt read the whole thread:

snob = not a bad thing, despite its connotation (also, note the word "borderline" in the OP)..

..d'oh

*bumped for appropriate embarrassment*

I think most of the guys grew up there, but PK didn't really start as a real business until they moved to Calgary.
