Deep, dark dubstep

Post by jaydot » Wed Apr 07, 2010 3:57 pm

I'm feeling this type of music right now, sinister music, yet not dubby dubstep, with nice deep bass

Sick of wobble.

It's all about Scuba, Kode 9, Skream's earlier stuff, Burial....anything of the Dub Box album circa 2007.

Can't stop rinsing Irie by Skream on Spotify.

Anyone dig it?

mate... don't judge about wobbles if you haven't heard whistla - 7th ray dub :o
don't get a distorted sight by all this shit that is around and calls itself 'wobble'

anyway. i'm feeling same music as you do. but the list of artists is much bigger!

same.

I dont mind some wobbles, it all depends how its done!

We need more dark, gritty, sub bass driven heavy beats.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

Nah I'm not knocking wobbles, if done with the correct ammount of effects/style it's effective, but I just like to kick back with the older skool dubstep once in a while. And am open to suggestions for tracks/artists.

And I meant Box of Dub

I think you learn to appreciate the bass more on the older tracks cos a lot of it is sub heavy.

Its nice to see the love returning in force for the more sub heavy stuff.

Midrange bass just gets irritating after a while. Anyone who can listen to anything by Unitz needs a medal.

that recent youngsta radio mix had loads of wicked stuff like this. oddly enough a lot of the stuff on that mix seems to come from ex-dnb producers (obviously left the scene because no one in dnb seems to be into deep stuff any more). actually i suppose its not that odd, given the kind of virusey tinge a lot of it had.

Yeah I must admit, you shouldn't judge unitz by the hypey stuff hes done (and its some of the best imo), some of his stuff you've probably never heard is deep as farkkkkk!
