Hello. I'm interested in any insight anyone can offer as to how Chase & Status get 'that' sound out of their synths. I.E Saxon, Bits, Madhouse, Is It Worth It(Vip). I have massive, albino and various other synths and demos. I've tried using distortion plugins, splitting the bass into 3, all sorts of stuff thats mentioned on here. Closest i've got is a kinda clipped sound from massive(using the hardclipper and other modulation) and run that through different distortions such as amplitube and omnicide.
I'm not trying to copy their sound, they're advanced producers and way beyond anything i could do anyway. I'm just trying to learn about how to get various sounds, and theirs is a nice meaty one to try to reproduce. Any help and advice would be appreciated!
I wonder if they use a saw lfo on their pitch? Some of the basslines have that throbbing sound. Does anyone know if its just one synth they use? Or do they layer different sounds? I've tried all the tips in the midrange bass section on this forum, plus countless other tutorials on the web, but not been able to come close to this sound.
So they use a preset?? It sounds different to their stuff, although i can see the similarity. I'd be surprised if they just used a preset, id have thought they'd come up with their own sounds.

Nah its the brutal electr patch, you need to route the lfo around different though. The differences are cuased by them putting subtle effects after it in the chain, reverbs, saturators n shit...

But for the most part, its brutal electro.
What do you think they did to the lfo?
FFS man I cant remember I dont own massive... I dont own my DAW much less massive lol... I just know you route the lfo somewhere else, and its instant-chase-n-rusko from there... Anyone gonna explain the technicalities of this so I dont look like Im chatting about soemthing I dont know?

He`ll promise you the world but just get Syphilis and start talking about Imperialist organ grinding monkeys.
Haha i'm familiar with the hamvst joke. I'm just asking about this preset as sound design interests me. Also have a lot of respect for chase n status, they're great producers. I can see from the clips above that they did use this patch, i'll experiment with some plugins.
