Here is the sample, it's a detuned saw wave supplied by GNRL, aka Sinestepper, the winner of #1

Here's the winner of the last session in all it's glory (made using nothing more than an 808 bassdrum).

The premise to this originates from the original Applied Minimalism production experiment created by the guys at www.microphunk.ru
If you're skeptical, I strongly suggest listening to this mix, the capabilities are infinite!
The rules are:
1 - Nothing other than the sample, no synths, no other samples.
2 - Effects are allowed.
3 - You may re-sample the sample's waves in order to use in synths that accept 3rd party waveshapes (I use FL so for me that would be things like 3xOsc, Sytrus, Toxic Biohazard etc.)
4 - You may process the sample in any way you please, distortion, reverb, delays, pitch shifting/bending, filtering... The list is endless
5 - You may not use the sample as a vocode carrier for a 3rd party modulator.
6 - Keep your submissions completely anonymous until the end of the competition, that means no public soundcloud sharing, or sharing with any members of this forum for that matter.
7 - Submit only 1 track. If you decide to collaborate, the one track submitted is the one track for all members of said collaborative group.
These rules are subject to change as time goes by and as/if relevant amendments become/are necessary.
At the end, there will be a vote, the winner of the competition will select the sample for the next one. (Hopefully)
Again, the Sample - If you're interested you may start now.

Re: DSF: Applied Minimalism #2
I made a midrange bass, sounds too much like a chug chug metal guitar. So i scrapped it.
Re: DSF: Applied Minimalism #2
A while ago, like several months ago, I had a little go with that sample and got a fairly decent drumloop together. The hats were easier to make than they were with the 808 bass drum for the last one.
You've got plenty of time folks!
