sad tuna :(

anyhoo, nice one Bud, liking what you got so far but it definitely feels like a WIP, it sounds too empty until the choir-like thing comes in (and even then i reckon it could do with something else layered on top), it gets better towards the end tho
i like the beats/percs but i feel it needs more variations, fills and whatnot, sounds too loop-y to me as it is

yeah i hear what you mean man

hm hard one for me i dont wanna layer it like usually though dont wanna add vocals and too much atmo

woudl you reckon some vinyl crackle and occasional beat stops filter work could do the trick?

ja, something like that; not necessarily vinyl crackles, but layering some ambient background noise, also maybe reverb on some of the drum hits so the reverb tail could fill that background "ambiance" purpose

i feel you could have more melodic content tho, maybe not another full-on synth, but some incidental pads in the back to give it more of a sense of progression/phrasing
also on second listen, there's something in your drum loop that irks me, like the thing that you introduce around 3:01, it's at the beginning of each bar or so, somewhere between the 1 and the 2, sounds a bit weird to me, maybe i wouldn't have it on each bar

imho tbh bbq

ah i see what you mean with the beat this kind of convolution yeah i liked it but maybe i gets too much :(

ok i try to give some feedback back now :3

def like what you got so far. haha i can see why you need more in my tune this one ahs alot of incidential moments

maybe hm dunno all is fine so far but i miss this one element that grabs me
maybe some solo flute in the second part. could be a easy melody three notes.
atm its a very nice atmospheric beat but i think it could become a "song" if you will with a melody on top

this swordesc percs maybe could move in the stereo bit more or some filtering in and out?

would love to hear how it would sound if you lower this "ou" shout later -5 -7 -12 i bet one sounds tight like makes it deeper or like every 4th 8th with a break in the beat like 0 0 0 -12 haha :corndance:

def man send me sth and i make a mini tuna if needed lol :3

but yeah the tuna helped me in terms of like we all are kinda the same passionate about music but not hm lets say forcing stardom too much ( here and there its ok)
but hearing all the dif takes on which is essentially music brings a new perspective to my way of even starting sth. its often marginal but enough to push me in the right direction

@cyclopian
Amazing stuff here man, I was hoping for a part where the pads would come out more and it happened that same momen. You should make more like this :h:

@wolfram

Really like the last bit of this, feels like it "finally" becomes a full/complete track but then it ends too soon :6:

OH snap! TUNA came early this week? I actually had time yesterday to get something recorded in between jobs, thought I had until Saturday to work it a bit more, but anyways, here is one for me:

Soundcloud

Kinda sparse because I ran out of patch cables and this is a 100% modular jam track at this stage.

Hopefully TUNA isn't dead for now, I went away for a few weeks for work and things seem to have fizzled out :(

@RADD:
Thanks! Chord sound is two malekko anti oscillators and a plan b model 15 osc thru the sEM20 filter. Kick is tip top 808 module. Screechy melody is a delay line with a resonant filter patched into the feedback loop. When patched like this they act almost like a pair of synced oscillators, with the delay line length defining the harmonics that the filter will track to. Big pad swells are feedback between a reverb and delay. It started as an experiment to see how unrepetitive I could make the 8 step sequencer act with voltage control and probabilistic track switching, and the melody is just a straight random voltage generator, so it should sound pretty random XD! Rythmic sequences are based on clock dividers and logic combinations. The whole thing was more of a sequencing experiment than a full track, but when I jammed it on the mixer it sounded pretty fun. I like starting tracks with these randomized but static kind of things. I multi tracked everything so I can edit and compose something cool out of the random sequenced parts now as I start adding in layers.

@cycolpiarchitect: it's an interesting combination of your sound with a different style. I always find it difficult to encapsulate enough of the defining characteristics of a specific genre when I'm asked to do something specifically out of my own style. I'm curious if you found it hard to retain your sound while creating something that needs to be identifiable as a specific genre, or if you were already familiar and comfortable with the sound to start with? Also, the pic on the soundcloud page is adorable

@zeed: I really like the processing on the piano comp thruout. Also dig some of the snare rythmic details. When the side stick and snare sample play together(or is it some reverb processing) it seems like there is some phasing or comb filtering going on creating a resonance somewhere that is a little distracting. Otherwise, nice vibes. Maybe add some micro timing edits to the drums to make them feel a little more organic unless you want the really robotic dubstep feel

@hubb: need to be at my computer to download your track, so I'll edit in some feedback later
