new and weird fidget house

Post by elgato »

can anyone recommend me any interesting new fidget house stuff?

i was into it quite a lot for a while, but lost interest when everyone seemed to start making shit clown speed garage and copying Herve, but of late i've caught the ends of a couple of sets in clubs which have been completely crazy, a real return to the bizarreness that made the early stuff so good for me... weird sludgy basslines and twisted vocal edits, slack tweaky beats etc... really tripped out and odd

if anyone could give me any leads that would be great :)

i guess im looking for stuff thats less in your face than that though, more hypnotic and groovy, more freaked out

afterhours vibe is maybe a good way to say it

some of Mowgli's stuff is pretty close to the vibe im thinking of

Keep an eye on discodust.blogspot.com, they have some similar sort of stuff.

Also, try Will Bailey, Shinichi Osuwa, Kissy Sell Out, Tim Healy, Crookers, Twocker.

I've heard a few Herve/Sinden sets and I really like bits of them but sometimes it all just sounds like a tediously lairy din to me and then I start feeling old and reaching for the talcum powder.

yeh this is more or less exactly what put me off, everyone seemed to start going this way, but a few years back most of it wasn't anything like that, just proper offkey tripped out house

Im listening to this hi-jack and honestly i think it sucks. There's no feel to it. These days it just seems people are making genres for the hell of it and not for the quality.

A bit like people posting videos on youtube?

I like some of it, as Corpsey said I associate a lot of it the the Herve/Sinden type stuff which I find a little too much. Some interesting stuff around by the looks of it, good thread.

I've got a bit of a track I've been working on recently. Still needs mastering and a bit of tinkering with, but so far it sounds like this.. . .. . www.myspace.com/maxfentonmusic

leaving aside the proteinshake side of things how would you differentiate this from the really clean bumpy kinda stuff by people like trimsound? is that just all a bit nicer maybe?

i bought this on a random one the other day. check 16 maybe 17 maybe 18, really weirded out but dancefloor

I'm a big fan of Kanji but that remix is miles away from his better work. It sounds like hard house at points. The Raffertie remix is good, the Bulgarian remix is a tad noisy for my liking but i still like it a lot.

I ain't really listened to much Fidget but i'm always up for recommendations of good music, so I'm appreciating this thread and will keep my eye on it.

I'm really digging the beats I have heard by The Bulgarian and other bits on Potty Mouth records.
