good interface for less than a ton = not possible :) imo of course.. but...

I'd be looking at M-Audio and Edirol. Tapco is a good shout too. The M-Audio Fast Track Pro 4x4 is about 120 quid if you can stretch to that. But like speakers, it's worth waiting and spending more on something better...

Would avoid the Behringer UCA200, I got one for gratis and it's 'orrible :)

This is generally a good rule. Their midi interfaces are fine though.

What's wrong with onboard?
I just installed OSX on my PC (Hackintosh) and there doesn't seem to be any issues with latency/audio requests through kernel so no need for ASIO like there is with Windows *shrugs*

My onboard sound is alright. I am also running an M-Audio delta 66 and it's perhaps slightly quieter but certainly the advantages are very minimal for the price difference unless you need to record (in which case I'd recommend you go for an external dedicated ADAC)

I was going to ask a soundcard question too... Might as well stick it in here than start a new thread innit.

Anyone know of a firewire (mac compatible) soundcard that just has outputs (eight preferably)? I've got an 8 in 8 out box, but I don't want to rip it out of the studio, and drag it around smelly clubs every time I perform a liveset. So if anyone knows of anything, or could suggest a cheap 8 I/O box, i'd be much obliged. I've had a look around on the net, and haven't found anything. Thanks.

A friend has just got this from ebay brand new for £100

10X ins and outs. And its Roland, so will last a while
I had one of those a few years ago. I can't remember what it was atm, but something about it really pissed me off! It might have been something to do with the drivers I think... Although, it actually didn't sound too bad, and it's a good size for a liveset rig.

Anyone know of anything that just has the outputs?
