Dub Dub
Recently I thought to myself, "I like dubstep, I should check out dub." Things I've found so far that I like:
Almost everything by King Tubby
Dr Alimantado's album Best Dressed Chicken in Town
Some things by Lee Perry
Anyone have recommendations? I'm especially interested in classics / albums and songs with historical significance and the darker the better.

King Tubby's protege Scientist released some of the best Dub albums around. Start off with this.......

Then any of Scientist's other gems.
This is essential for fresh futuristic Dub....

And anything on this label for more new style Dub....

Damn right man, same here, gotta love dub if you love dubstep.TAVRAVLAVISH wrote: I got into dub long before i ever listened to dubstep.
Some dubwise engineers with heavy riddims apart from the obvious King Tubby, Scientist and Lee Perry are Prince Jammy, Prince Far I and Augustus Pablo. Maxie and Barnabas are pretty skilled aswell.
Check Prince Jammy Destroys the Invaders, Scientist Wins the World Cup, 3 The Hard Way (Scientist, Barnabas & Maxie), Super Ape By Lee Perry and Dub from the Roots by King Tubby, pure pure genius
Damn straight.Blood and Fire releases are all generally essential purchases.Setting up that label has to be the only worthwhile musical thing Mick Hucknall has ever doneGodflesh Fiend wrote:Nice.
Select Cuts From Blood And Fire Chapter 1-3 have some awesome remixes of classic Dub Reggae stuff......Chapter 1 is easily the best but the other 2 kick ass too!
