all i get from this arguament is that you dont actually know what you are talking about.....pro tools is shit for electronic music? mate.......go and spend some time trying to use it......the best engineers and recording studios in the world all use pro tools, u gonna argue??

ive worked with HD and LE for years....you can get excellent results with LE....you just have to know how to use it......logic and pro tools can all do the same things. Pro Tools was originally built as an audio editor, and later incorporated MIDI, whearas Logic was originally an MIDI editor/sequencer (by emagic) which later incorporated audio....i like to write in logic and edit/mix in tools......then master in tools......works fine 4 me

Look Mr. Bastard; if that is your real name...

I'm tired of arguing. So all i'm going to say is its midi editor is rubbish, it is harder to use for creating tune (and yes obviously better for mastering) and more expensive.

And the stuff in bold... that doesnt prove its good for electronic music creation, rather that its good for post production

init. he seems like a proper dick head. I just cant believe he would slag off the god damn best DAW out there! what a twat!!!

edit... nah seriously, my tunes are in my sig. I mean nothing special, but not bad for 6-9 months experience making music. And I do still stand by my opinions.

Peace.

Junglist wrote:^ Yes Pro Tools is a good program if your loaded with cash and want to recording live instruments in a band perhaps. Or do some mastering.

However the fact that the turd above (forget the name) said it was good for electronic music is laughable. it is a good program for some things, terrible for others. including, dur... dubstep production

nothin . i just love a good debate 8) lol

Well when someone pokes a bear with a stick. There gonna get attacked. And questioning my hatred of a (imo) sub par overpriced, stuck up it's own arse program... well
\/ :miyagi: prepare for a tounge lashing!
you are a prick and you don't have a clue...

i mean, obvioulsy pro tools must be rubbish for electronic music if people like timberland use it to make some of the sickest modern urban riddims about

pro tools can do more or less anyting that cubase or logic can do... you don't need to spend extra on a wrapper really, most good synths run RTAS just as well as VST...

and i don't think it's expensive... you can get it with an m-box mini for £140 which includes the full PT8 LE... name another DAW package that is cheaper than that? (excluding reaper) and you get some hardware with it (i know it's only a headphone out but it's a high quality one... great to go with the laptop)...

man... try using some software before you go slating it with shit that ain't even true... lol

I have made plenty of electronic riddims in pro tools 6.4 and more recently 7.4 (soon 8 :D)

it's great, it's different, it's flexible, it's powerfull and it doesn't force you into a specific way of working...

i love it...

Junglist you are a prick :P

Turn it around.
Two balanced line outs.
And the fact it comes with pro tools 8...even if you're just gonna run logic through it, it's one of the best low priced soundcards out there.

Who are you talking to?

The last post disputing that was posted by me (my old user name being Junglist) on November the 11th, 2008! Your pretty much just arguing with yourself now

I'm pretty much finished with talking about my opinions on this DAW. It only leads to being called a tnuc & prick. :|

EDIT: I don't want this post to sound hostile. Like I said above peace...
