Byte Design - Free design service for DSF heads

Post by the basic » Tue Feb 03, 2009 1:43 pm

Hello peeps, thought some of you on here might be interested in utilising my Byte Design service. Here's the blurb:

"Byte Design is a non-profit design service designed primarily to provide a free resource for up and coming DJs, producers, promoters and musicians who don't have the budget for a designer to help shape the visual look of their product.

Byte Design can create flyers, album and mixtape covers, logos, posters, T-shirt design and much more besides. Previous clients include Bodynod, Dissident, Hip Hop Karaoke, Launch, Oxjam, Urban Scrumping and Unity as well as many DJs and producers."

You can take a look through my portfolio either via my website:

http://www.byte-club.co.uk

(click on the 'Design' tab)

or the Facebook group:

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=59439279993

If you're interested in commissioning Byte Design to work on your project for free, then contact us via PMs here or at:

design [@] byte-club.co.uk

Cheers!

I can't recommend the skills of The Basic enough! :n:

As he mentioned, all the recent artwork for Urban Scrumping has been done by him, and it's always one of the first thing people mention when you send them a release.

Not sure man.. the pieces in the ART section... all those flyers with illustration on the front. It's good. And it is illustration. Shed the conventions.

Have a tablet myself... you'll love the thing.

Ah right! The "art" section on the website is the flyers from my club night's past events, the "design" section is my own stuff! Apologies for any confusion.

The flyers you're referencing are the work of two very talented illustrators, Rory Doona and Sam Bevington respectively. They do the front art for them, I do all logos and back design you see on them.

Check their stuff here:

http://www.athility.com/rorydoona/illustration/

or

http://www.thebevlak.com/

I'm still learning all the time, once I get the tablet I'll be able to get more of my own illustrations up. For the time being pieces I've done like this:

Are only in reality very basic shapes and layers. But fun to do anyway!

So I haven't gone to look at your work yet but ummmmm.....basically I want to say this. The kindness and/or the sentiment of your thread is awesome and inspiring. I'm gonna tell everyone about you and hopefully it leads to some cash for you some way, some how  That's really cool of you to be so generous. Make sure you hit me up for some tracks if you like :O:
