Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

Heathmans went into administration last year. Beau left there ages ago, and now works at Masterpiece (cuts most of Tempa's stuff these days as someone mentioned). Shane from Heathmans has now set up the business under a diff name which escapes me at the moment....£10 Bag wrote:Heathmans

In the UK your options are Transition, Masterpiece, The Exchange, Optimum, Liquid (cheap!), and the new Heathmans, amongst a handful of others...
just to add... the new Heathmans is called, Finyl Tweak, and Shane the cutter is still there...ThinKing wrote:Heathmans went into administration last year. I'm assuming you have to send them the original rns file?
how do you make sure they master it right though...? cos you can master music for clubs, radio, vinyl, etc, and then theres different ways of mastering for different genres.
i havn't clicked on any of these websyts listed above yet. maybe i should have done that first and i might have found the answers to my questions. but thought i would ask here before i forgot.

normally you would send them a wav/aiff file of your tune, as rendered from sofware or whatever you're using, with nothing much on the master bus and some headroom (3db ish).Talbz Beatz wrote:I'm assuming you have to send them the original rns file?

if you ask them to master your tune for vinyl, they will do exactly that, if you want it mastered for digital, then they will do that... you only have to ask

I've used 4 or so different mastering engineers for various projects, and with each one (even the ones I have worked with a few times) I first send an introductory email that gives an overview of the project, the music and what I am hoping to accomplish. Then, when I send the audio I usually attach specific notes for each track. This saves a lot of guesswork for the mastering engineer and ultimately makes for a more efficient process.
Absolutely! If you have any specific needs for your project you shouldn't hold back from consulting with your ME during any stage of the process. On the flipside if you want your track optimised but aren't sure of what's involved, you shouldn't feel you HAVE to ask specifics and you can leave it to the ME's discretion. I expect most ME's welcome as much info on a job as you feel you need to give!

Tech Itch, Skynet and myself. Check out the site for more info. There is also a thread on here about it.

You wont find more experience with electronic music (including Dubstep specifically) coupled with a killer, purpose built room outfitted with killer gear (some custom made for us to our specs).
