getting deekline - "i dont smoke" is simply massive

sick tracklist but i kinda dont like that idea of putting old tunes on a mix cd like this. deekline's "i dont smoke" and dizzee's "i love u" are great tunes, i just dont know that they need to be on a mix cd that comes out in 2009.

btw, i have "i dont smoke" on a white label. got it back in like 2002.

Havnt listened to it but I wld guess Spyro does sutm interesting with them in the mix to make it valid. I know he usually only uses the intro to 'I don't Smoke' as a tease when he's playin out and then brings in sutm else

IMO its perfectly valid. If someone can recontextualise old classics in a mix of much fresher beats then its more than justified. I appreciate DJs that can get a good balance between unreleased tunes and older beats. Not necessarily 50-50 by any means but its that ability that makes me such a fan of DJs like Martyn, Pev and Kode.

Really need to cop this CD

I'd say the majority of mix CDs I have have an old cut or two on them.
