i dont think any of you have ever been to raves when it used to be moody...be it dnb or garage...and i mean real moody...
bigup those who did...and no this aint a new old skool v new skool debate.
Jungle Fevers in 94/95 were much much worse than anything now. Propper dark vibe. Remember at some dodgy sound Carvnical 94 MC's had to tell mans to stop firing guns off when big tunes dropped lol.
But yah to me Dubstep has got a ALOT more common in dub (apart from the obvious) than grime, especially the vibe. And if you have been to a jah shaka sound you'll know what will happen to you if you try to bring bad vibes or kick off.
MC's do seem to bring the bad vibes unfortunatly.

I don't see how that has anything to do with what I said, but I'd agree on that count. A lot of people want to be an MC.[/quote]

nail on head. so much griping about grime losing the plot when, outside a few mainstays, so much dubstep's going to shit with a blindfold on.

Amen to that, all these ruddy dubstep avengalists hating grime....
look, it's like ANY music, some is fookin' wicked, some is gash.
Catch a Pinch b2b Blazey set if you wanna hear Grime n Dubstep being mixed well. They always smash it and it nearly always works very very well.

lots of people expressing views so thought i'd drop my 2pence worth in.
Although i rarely feel grime releases (esp the ones with mcs on the vinyl) i gotta say having a "grime" mc (i prefer to jus say mc) over dubstep adds a whole nova dimension to the sound and very often adds loads of energy.
2 recent examples of this are:
D Double over Youngsta @ FWD last week, this was HEAVY!!
Newham Generals and Jammer over Tubby b2b Skream @ FWD couple weeks ago, this showed the benefits of good mcs inna dance (as even when there were deck issues the Gens were keeping the vibes going)
I kno what people are saying with regard to liking it more on the host tip rather than riding the riddim, but i like either. AS LONG AS ITS DUN WELL!!!
Of course there are TONNES of shit mc's and very few good ones
With regard to people going on about dub dont need no mc, have u ever been a dub event? mc's all night. Admittedly they do more of a hosting type thing (which is where i wud say pokes fits in perfect, BIG UP POKES)
I want variation in a night.
The prime example, imho, of weak mcing was when Task was hosting for Youngsta @ one of the DMZ's. I would WAY have prefered to hear Newhams (for example) do a good job rather than Task do (IMO) a weak job
Dont get me wrong, i H8 the whole budabudabuda bollox, but i think that is more often dnb mc's trying to mc over dubstep more than actual dubstep/grime mc's.
(btw fav old skool mc = Robbie Dee)

I think if you'd heard ''Scatman's World'' you'd know that he died mentally a long long time ago

I cant find no 1 on here who said they hate grime..so where's all this dub step hating grime coming from?? and if i remember rightly it was the grime artists who were not feeling dub step in the day..
Anyway I think the point thats being made is dub step is all about good vybes and the music. Its not about having some 1 chat about guns n ice n wots gonna happen 2 ya if u get seen on road. No 1's knocking what grime artist are doing, there good at wot they do and the likes of roll deep ect have done aloat to push underground music.
im 100% dub step i love it. its in my bones. But that dont mean i dont like grime.i just dont play it.
every 1 has the right to there own opinions but at the end of the day this is a DUB STEP forum.
