y0!

Dunno if I posted in this thread already or not, but fuggit, here's my formal introduction.

I have been writing dnb for about 10 years. Been signed 'n released since '05 under the aliases Tek Infektion and as 1/2 the arsen!c duo. I have releases on labels such as Outbreak, Hate, Sinuous, G2, Intransigent, Freak, Evol Intent, and now Human Imprint. I got into dubstep a bit while living in Phoenix, AZ thnx to the Ultrablack foos. Moved back to the midwest the end of last year 'n got linked up with TRiLLBASS after which we began work on Swagger. I have since slated many releases on quite a few stateside dubstep labels including TRiLLBASS, Betamorph, Stupid Fly, Rottun, Adversion, and Fake Monster Blood. Got a few collaborations in the works with TRiLLBASS, and many more on the way. I engineered Richie August's Death Proof EP that was recently released on Betamorph, and I have quite an extensive catalogue of tunes myself with loads more on the way. Having a genre that is as open as this is to outlet to is such a breath of fresh air. I needed it.

I think the thing I like most about this genre is the fact that it is so open to new ideas. DnB got stuck up its own ass, and doesn't allow too much outside the norm anymore. I didn't get into music to be pigeonholed into one tiny BPM section. DnB doesn't leave a whole lot of room for actual music either. Its more of a composition of sound design than anything else. With dubstep I can get creative. I can actually write melodies like I do with my other downtempo projects, and they are accepted. I do that in DnB 'n I get o_O all day long. Its irritating, and way too serious.

Anyhoo, I have some noise uploaded to the music myspaz for your listening pleasure, so feel free to click the logo in my sig, and take in a lil of what I have to offer. Love it, or hate it, I'm gunna do what I'm gunna do 'n no one is going to stop me.

Hello there.
Recently within that last few months, have been getting deeply into dubstep.
Currently learning all I can to produce some of my own, hoping some people here could put me in some good directions.

Hello all,
Been lurking here for the last year or so but finally decided to get round to joining up. I DJ a bit and produce a bit (badly) but I've found a lot of the advice on here really helpful and inspiring.
Also, big up for the sick mixes constantly posted on here.

EZ all.

I have no reason for not signing up here sooner. Well I suppose I do have a few reasons, other Forums.

Irishdrumandbass.com
Subvertcentral.com
and dubculture.net

Anyway, dabbling at the moment with a bit of production, albeit on a Nintendo DS. Check em out on http://virb.com/debutcher

hello, finally!

Post by earlgrey » Wed Feb 25, 2009 10:08 pm

Been enjoying listening to dubstep here and there for a good few years, … but lately more and more …. and more!

I wasn't ever big into ukg - more dnb, breakbeat, dub, etc, along with lots of other mad stuff that's not closely related (doom metal anyone?! Lol). I'm still into a mad array of music, but, as to the dubstep, it has - without doubt - tipped the scales into a definite obsession lately, so I decided to join with some likeminded ppl here!....

Right at the moment particularly loving ital tek, kode9, pinch, dakhim, the vex'ds, breakage, … hopefully dsforum will put me in the way of a few more hidden gems ;-)

Sup Y'all!

I had to join this forum due to the amount of time and passion I've been putting into Dubstep, recently. I used to go to a shit load of underground and Konkrete Jungle NYC shows in my early teen year's and have always been into electronic music. after spending the past 10 years of my life playing in Metal bands I got tired of it and decided to get into production. through that I got into DJing and just filling my head up with tunes I missed out on. after discovering Dubstep, I was hooked. I've been producing and spinning it ever since.

If anyone in NYC ever wanna link up or give pointer's, feel free to hit me up.
heres my music page (hasnt been updated in a while...still a work in progress) and my metal page for any metal heads out thee.
