lol some people don't even use deodorant, thats one thing i do like about dubstep thats it open to any one but when mans are in the rave who look like they aint shaved in weeks and just stink time to draw for the lynxseckle wrote: deodorant first, everything afterwards is important.
Funky-out-of-dubstep piece in the Guardian feat. Kode, me
x10000. i'm all for music over fashion and that, but next time sum crusty dreds swing anywhere near my drink i'm cutting them off. end of.Funky Stanton wrote:I'd happily have Mala drop a couple of Britaney tracks in exchange for everyone in the dance having a wash and putting some deodorant on before coming to DMZ.
i wouldn't get too irritated by prancehall tho. he's generally tongue in cheek and/or trying to annoy someone, both of which he's quite good at
so dubsteppers are funky

I was under the impression that you used to get fashionistas in jungle raves wearing Moschino and Versace?
Re Rachel - truesay, a dirty dread lock in your mouth as some plum jumps all over the shop is never nice.
Talking of smells, the smell of bottom seems to do the rounds at dubstep parties since the smoking ban... not cool.

Ah knae what your saying but Nike id's or stfuseckle wrote:anybody that chooses to view a music scene via the clothes people wear out to the club is a DONUT. fuck all that crap.
it's not a fucking fashion show, and people that take some moral high ground based on what trainers they have in their closet can go fuck off to the magazine racks. can't stand that attitude.
all we need is some more cultural elitism....FFS.
sound first, everything afterwards is unimportant.
what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.

of course, but the media has always exploited scenes like ours. they do this because they want to claim that they understand and want to document the pulse of the underground, when the reality is that they just have an agenda to push, and issues to sell. this is even more so when journo's try and tackle "fashion".Neville Bartos wrote:I was under the impression that you used to get fashionistas in jungle raves wearing Moschino and Versace?
they did it to jungle. they did it to grime, garage, 2step and now of course dubstep. its not necessarily a good thing or a bad thing. fashion is fun. its just that it becomes disingenuous and predictable when its filtered via the media.

Fashion is one thing, style is another...
As Chris Mack would have it, "dubplate style":

I don't know whether one can argue that these photos reveal very much about fashion. However, I would contend that they definitely demonstrate the enormous sartorial style of the dubstep scene. Fashion is about what you wear. Style is about how you wear it.

dubstep nights stink.
absolutely
stink
of shite
i hate it. if u need to pass wind just go in the toilet and do it.
i remember skream b2b mala at the big apple birthday party in fwd a couple years ago
i was waiting to use one of the cubicles behind skream, he went in after some guy then 3 seconds later rushed out
the guy had shat on the actual floor of the toilet, nowhere near the toilet bowl - a pile of shit was resting on the floor. the guy hadn't even bothered to make any small attempt to mask his tracks. he'd done it brazenly and i kind of respected the courage in a perverse sort of way.
anyway - the worst thing i've seen at a dubstep night wasnt even that... it was when i was in nottingham at detonate, i cant remember who was playing, it may of been d1.. someone was dancing on one of the platforms and suddenly there was a circle around him of people moving out of the way, this guy had his pants and trousers round his ankles and was having a wank (masturbating for the yanks amongst us) on the stage. that was different. i dont know if he finished up or what cause i wasnt really on watching the guy too hard, but i did see him a couple mins later back in the crowd dancing away as if nothing had happened.
i also find that because of dubstep nights i can generally spot someone who will stink based on what they are wearing / how they look. i know seckle will probably have a baby over this cause "its all about the sound maaaaan".. but fashion/style often says alot more about the person that the music they listen to.
