we should all show some.
how comes suddenly everyone's an expert? I come here to chat about the music and share info / resources just like im sure everyone else did. But i cant ignore this disrespectful attitude a few people seem to have.
Yeah obviously a forum is a democratic place by nature but thats why its even more important we all know our place. Just cos you have the power to say something doesn't mean you shouldn't consider the way you say it.
If it weren't for the people at the heart of the scene none of us would be 'here' right now so just hold it down and show some respect.

I'm sure everyone here is big enough and grown up enough to give and take the BB banter mate.
All I've seen is a few crossed wires, all minor as far as I can tell. That's what makes me laugh about these things - don't lose sight of the proportion!

i'd like the "experts" from london(croydon..to be specific) to tell the rest of the "world", exactly who's producing dubstep, and who's not.
a list please.
that would help the rest of the "world" on this forum, to know exactly what agenda you're trying to push on us.
the rest of the "world" is made of people like reelcash and others here that are trying to promote this music and generally take it to the next level, and you're trying to divide it. congratulations, merry christmas with fuzzy bears and milk tray chocolates.

baz, are you making dubstep mate? let me know if you are, because it would be a crisis of epic proportions if you started making death metal without informing this forum.

no-one pushing any agenda at all. jus a discussion about what's dubstep, what's breakstep and where the 2 meet/divide etc. point was that dubstep is rooted in london, like reggae in jamaica, hip-hop in US etc etc. other point was that points can be made without being disrespectful, not just of named producers but of any1 at all.
nb - would prefer quality st nex time...

dividing this music into camps, dilutes it's strength as a scene. please try and imagine what it's like to try and promote this music in places other than london.

im not even really interested in the genre definitions discussion to be honest!
glad Missused brought up hiphop as an example - it always pissed me off the way Taskforce were always like FUCK AMERICA even though they use loads of US beats and bla bla bla. perfect example. Not saying anyone is saying 'fuck london' but whatever.
This is dead now i just wanted to say my piece

er hold your horses there son - Croydon ain't that well known except for within a small circle of people that happen to be worldwide and are into this sound...
Newhaven.
There ya go, Newhaven's now worldwide as well lol
Not quite as well known as Croydon, but a few more of you out there have now heard of the dump, but the only music it's famous for is.. ok none.
