NYC Fri March 20 - DUB WAR w/ LOEFAH (dmz) + ACTRESS (werk)

LOEFAH! The original half-steppa. The man who made so many people think about BASS in a new way. The producer most responsible for elevating the 808 back to its rightful place. He's got a new label (Swamp 81), new sounds to share, and a load of unreleased Swamp material in the bag. A special 2 hour set. Lots of surprises in store.

Hazyville rocka and Werk founder ACTRESS steps out of the shadows to cast a spell on the Dub War fam with his hard to classify cassette house concoctions. His label has been behind some of the most fantastic and original releases of the past year from artists like Lukid, Disrupt, and Zomby, and her own full length 'Hazyville' was truly a beneath the radar future classic. Not to mention the new Thriller series in collaboration with Lukid.

If you don't like moshpits, I suggest standing in the other room by the bar. I envision a circle pit, several walls of death and perhaps a friendly fist fight with no bad intentions meant.

And that's just in the line getting in for Loefah at Dubwar. Each and every time is Chaos. Headgear, Mouthpiece, Cup, Chest protector, Pocket Protector.

Just warning you, it's gonna be physical. Pre-order, Pre-Game. Red Bull. Blunts Pre-Rolled. Loefah HAS been known to drop DIIIIIIIIIRT at Dubwar.

For those who are unfamiliar with what a "WALL OF DEATH" is...

And that's just the line getting into Love for Loefah.

This will be the inside:

Seriously ~1:18ish... that will be the scene with the drop of every tune. If he reloads a tune you better kiss that ass goodbye. This is gonna be fucking insane.

He's so pretty! Lol. I heard some of his stuff on boomkat and it'll sound even more interesting in Love's soundsystem.

That's no exaggeration. The "Wall of Death" brings back memories of Jan and Sept '07 at Dubwar.

Just relax

Post by smellyoulater » Wed Mar 04, 2009 6:15 pm

Why do the boys want to touch and rub up against each other at dubstep shows now?

When I saw Loefah and Mala few years back, girls rubbed up against boys, and the vide was chill.

Then I went to the Loefah/Dusk & Blackdown show and boys danced with boys, and it was aggro, just like all the macho bs I used to put up with at hip hop and punk shows.

It's because the calibre of man at Dub War is on such a high standard. Take Sharmaji for example. Something about him just makes you want to rub up against him. Same would go for Drew Lustman if it wasn't for the funky odor.

But yeah, the aggro bullshit really sucks. I can't stand it. Fair point there. Fortunately it hasn't been too bad lately.
