I think ur insane mate

crunc tesla wrote:Grime is infact a Brittish form of Hip-Hop.
wrong (if so, who the hell are taskforce, terra firma, jehst etc?)

crunc tesla wrote:people always try n separate Grime and Dubstep.....but you cant really.
obviously you've either never studied music in any way or you haven't actually listened to these these two eras in music... the fact that dubstep tried to get away from what grime was pushing... and that dubstep has the crucial ingredient (found in so many underground british genres) - DUB!

I remember when some american "writers" started claiming that drum n bass was purely an american creation, because how can such a giant movement in music have come out of a british genre when it could have come out of the mighty american techno movement...... some people are still too patriotic.

Them wrote:Saying that there's an old remix of Dead Prez's 'hip hop' that came out of the US in the mid-nineties that is basically dubstep but a bit faster. Its probably not the only one. England's always nicking music off the yanks, but we do it with style 8)

Dead Prez' "Hip Hop" was originally released in 1999, so I don't think there exist a remix, there is even older... But the Dead Prez instrumental sounds a likkle bit like dubstep today (especially the bassline work), but as you say a little faster.

we're going back to the whole argument of:

"this music is ripping off classical composers because it uses a standardised tonal scale and acoustic instruments"

I heard that america invented music... anyone else?

i agree with what kulture's saying

i know its a hassle but please could people stop quoting my quote of crunc tesla like i said it!! i wouldnt mind but i totally disagree with virtually everything he said

if you dont know how to do it - when you quote something all you have to do is look up the quote is look where its says the word reptilian and write crunc tesla like so....

And the thread with the most posts in one day award goes to...

This just blew up didn't it? I don't like all this UK-US music beef tbh so everyone relax and take a few deep breaths. Music is it's own possession and therefore cannot be owned or defined by any person or place. Sure it can be popularised at one place but these beats have existed since time began so stop arguing and enjoy it. Your life is too short, thankfully music's is not.

I dont see it as a UK-US beef, just this one guys wacky opinions

think virtually everyone on here would agree the US is doing a lot in dubstep and many US producers/DJS were there from the start

this guy doesnt represent the US
