he's put up the whole sorry rant as a blog why not leave him a comment? ?

he's put up videos of old hip hop with half time beats to try and prove his point

yeah the half time beats sounds a bit like dubstep - so what?

doesnt exactly account for stuff like skream pinch, digital mystikz, shackleton, benga etc that has all kinds of beat patterns..

This is news to me, I thought the first dubstep tune was produced by a kazakhi peasant and named dubstep by his brother in Moldova in the 1980's. :P

why? for substantial cultural, racial, political and even geographical reasons.

it's all historical circumstance.
yeh, if you would like to credit the British East India Company for dubstep, you can make that argument.

id rather see a youth movement that tears down these old imperialist divisions, where we share culture in celebration.... fuck nationalism.

i think its cool people are mentioning "Hiphop" by dead prez, not because they "invented" dubstep... but because it IS bigger than "dubstep"

this whole thread is a turd on the toilet seat of doom, no wonder Kode9 called this place a Retard Magnet.

If you haven't got something constructive to add, hold your tongue.

As for people either side of the Atlantic trying to take credit - shaddup.
