Sorry to interupt this 'interesting' discussion, but dubstep was there first in Belgium, in 1981 by Eddy Wally. Get to know!

liar, it was invented in the United States. More specifically in Columbus, Ohio by Lil' Bow Wow.

Dubstep is influenced by nearly every genre on the earth..So it's kinda hard to say where it comes from these days imo.. Maybe you can defi the origin of the very first tracks... But still hard to say imo.. Since there are so much genres which have the same kinda sound in them.... Only because dubstep is so diverse...

Who cares.. It's just good to space on bass :D

strangely enough it matters to a lot of people

go and ask a jamaican if they care where reggae comes from - for many the music that developed in the place they come from is part of their identity and culture.

dubstep originated in a specific time and place and to claim that the idea that actually thats all bullshit and in fact it was all invented years ago in america is insulting to the actual history and development of the music and to the originators of the music, who deserve the credit and respect for what they achieved.
