Stressor- Throwbacks o.k man sounding dark and mean, levels sound good and everything seems to be in place.

Silent k- there's been a mistake is alright, i like the vocal samples, well wierd. i think you might need to look at cutting some of your frequencies with a little EQ cutting then try to boost the gain a bit. sounds promising.

Roister- i like 'Bits' it sounds like some gamelan business from Bali, you may be on to something there, it's also got a faint fly lo vibe about it. cool keep at it man, try some pumping compression to make it sound more 'squashy' and you could be on to a winner!

O.K then, heres a track thats hot off the production line called 'Radiance' it's got a tech/2 step vibe......

edi_x wrote:@ Keggah - Had a listen to 'My Outlook' on your myspace, really enjoyin the chilled vibe of it man. Just a thought, but when the wobble bass kicks in again after about 1:40 or so, it might be good to introduce another little idea to the tune, maybe a different melody line? Just to give a bit of variation and tie off the end of the song nicely.

Subject One is a good heavy tune, the drop's sweet. the variation in the mid-bass/wobble is good, but it sounds to me like they're all at slightly varying volumes.. to get the full impact of the drop you need to make sure they're each as powerful when they kick in if you get me?

@ Lowpass
- Broke Island - The key change really took me by suprise! Not very often you hear changes like that in this sort of music. One thing i'd look at is making the drums a bit more aggressive/frantic when the key change kicks in, almost as if it's building up to when the single lead line drops and ends the track

I've just put up my first attempt at a remix, a tune by Jazzanova called I Can See, any feedback would be much appreciated... http://www.myspace.com/pushplaytoday
anyone mind?

no lurve here either... i'm not the threadbumper kinda guy, so i post it here... itz a sort of minimalitic glitched breakbeats + strange sounds liveact, played by manual loop and pattern transformation... about 30min long or so... (all sounds are self recorded with my R09) maybe someone likes it, or maybe not... don't know... lots of error in my head right now.

Edi-x OK, i think the Jazzanova is alright, i say that because the first half seems too slow, then it changes into something much better. I would do away with the first half and keep the last half, or just make this bit longer.

to be honest, the tune i like most is the one that's not really dub oriented at all. 'Iheart HK' is really nice and reminds me a little of Helois, nice slow and meandering and all the better for having the guitar in it. This one is really good.

Cheers!

Many thanks for the comments Monday's Child, i agree about the intro to the Jazzanova tune, i think i'm gona have to cut it out and re-work it, i really buzz off the chorus bit though everytime i hear it.

iHeartHK's probably the only tune up there which reflects my early work, it's got certain sentimental value so i won't take it down, glad you liked it.

I'm just listenin to your Fulham Broadway track, really enjoyin the way it flows and the dark pad sounds behind it.

Just out of interest, what's the inspiration behind Vamos a' valore'? Is this what is classed as 'funky' these days? (forgive my ignorance)

Safe.

Edi-x Cheers mate, it's all good, in answer to your quetsion the house number on the Myspace is just that, straightforward house music with a nod to Masters at Work et al.
#Not really my usual style.

Lowpass- cheers mate, i do appreciate the good vibes man, i'll be sure to check your new one and give an opinion as soon as i get back from me work, innit! keep it up big fella!

Hoping to get a couple of tracks released by Sytrax outta Germany, they've got the legends that are John Beltran and Microworld, Octave One, Sven Wiessman, BVDub, AsOne, Sean Deason and the immense Rod Modell.

Esteemed company indeed. I am WELL looking forward to it!

Its quite hard to leave feedback for tunes if I am honest. I don’t know what I am doing myself so trying to give anyone else any decent feedback without sounding like a twat is tough so I apologies if my comments are short.

Lowpass: like the track called 789. Some nice metallic sounds in there that remind me of what you get in a game. Actually so does the strings, sounds like the start of some RPG game :D nice feel with it all I like it.

Mondays child. RE: sky hook. The pads are smooth and epic sounding, nice chilled beat. Don’t know what else to say on it really nice hoover:p

Legendary: I had to check yours out after you said ‘dark’ and som1 else said it sounds empty. That is just what I am on right now. I think the tune went on a bit long without many changes and I think it would make a nice intro to a track but instead of 3 mins, more like 1.5 mins and then some kind of drop. Not much of a melody (like my music) but that could be your style.

Here is what I have done this week. I am total noob but I would love to hear some criticism!

Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

cheers serox I've had it compared to the game goldeneye as well lol.

listened to your tune, I like the glitchy stuff going on in the start, sounds really dark, mix sounds nicely balanced

Serox:-
I like the sample at the start and the drums are sounding really nice and free flowing..i think u could do a bit more with the synth, maybe layer it up and play around with the filter to give it some movement.

Novak:-
I really like this tune man..nothing much to say just keep it up!

Id like some more feedback on the tune called 'bits':-

www.myspace.com/roistermusic

something a bit different...(dont watch the mix!!)
