som1 should have told you you can separate the sequencer so its full screen:p

Also if you click on the source you want to work on on the left hand side it takes u straight to the desired unit.

Or you can close all units and open the one you need and then close it when done. Nothing worse than messing with the wrong units buttons anyway so its nice habit to get into.

i know you can detach sequencer, still a major fidlle imo.

Cool fair enough. Not saying its shit per se, just didnt get on with it. lifes to short to master everything. my mate used it so played on it to try to get a collab on the go, but just not for me.

things people would know if they would experiment with said software instead of just saying it sucks.

In my opinion, Reason was a killer app a few years ago. These days it has lost its edge due to the exceedingly high quality of the competition.

I'd love nothing better than to see the program regain its position on the cutting edge of music software. Until they start adressing simple shit, that won't happen.

Does anyone really produce a song from start to finish in Reason? Its a toy. I have mixed and mastered trax made in Reason in Pro Tools, Nuendo and even Live but I can't see how ANYONE can make a studio quality track in this toy. Even on high quality interpolation using 24 bit sound libraries the rendering engine puts so much digital artifacts on it that your track screams COMPUTER MADE! Do they even have inputs yet? And those damn patches ...arggh I hear them everywhere! Hard to develop original sound architecture with those sorry synths. Sorry to offend anyone and if they magically transformed it into something new on the latest version I apologize but Reason is not pro gear and anyone who told you that a dope track was made in Reason is lying because I guarantee it was mixed in a real DAW or DAW/Mixing Board scenario.

Im not a negative person and Im not trying to make fun of anyone...just trying to save you time. Learn how to use a real DAW and if you still miss aspects of Reason run it rewire into your "Real Daw" and record directly in so you can bypass that sorry excuse for a rendering engine.

Limitations force creative work arounds....

We use ninja skills to monitor the levels & do spectral analysis... No seriously, you can build a spectrum analyser using the vocoder. Youtube spectral analyser combi or something. In fact, youtube is the best bet for fast access to Reason tutorials etc.

Another way is to rewire and use another program for analysis. Finally, you can get standalone analysers that run in the background while reason works. A far cry from EQ2 though, I must admit!
