a fair few of the replies i read in various threads complain about there being to many chavs, to many trendies, to many nu ravers, to many k-heads...
why cant everyone enjoy themselves?

I think there's a lot of overreaction going on in the K thread - I mean, if I go to a night and everyone sits around looking moody and noone dances then it'll probably have no vibes and be a shit night and I'll say so. Doesn't mean I'm infringing their freedom to sit around looking moody if they want to or assuming the moral high ground or anything, it's just that I had a shit night and the attitude of the crowd had a lot to do with it. Same if a lot of crowd are on K or coke or have had too much Sunny D and that makes the night boring or shit.

That said, the outbreaks of paranoia about dubstep being overwhelmed by everyone except the person posting is pretty funny sometimes. I keep expecting someone to start a thread worrying that dubstep's about to be ruined by a sudden influx of line dancers or Elvis impersonators or total serialists or West Brom fans or something...

Seriously, if you can get Adrian Chiles line dancing to a twelve tone arrangement of Love Me Tender down at Plastic People then...

...

...

... actually, I don't know what I'd do, my brain kind of froze when I tried to visualize that how awesome that would be.

I've noticed a change in the dubstep crowd over the last few months in cornwall. I've always been a person that believes that everyone and anyone can enjoy dubstep live. However, the number of 'the weekend' (you know that i mean) crowds have brought anger and aggression into the nights. I now have to think twice about going to these nights. Its really said because i love and crave these nights but after hatcha came down to falmouth, there were at least two horrible fights. This really puts me off going. Theres no need for aggression.

Just enjoy!!!

Well obviously if they dont bother anyone its not a problem, but thats not the case. If it was, obviously no one would care. Coked up chavs jumpin up and down in a group circle thing, forcing all the ravers to the side, shouting out some football chant or some shit over the music really fucked me off during a Forsaken set the other day. Its needless aggression like that which ppl dont like.

And as for 'nu ravers' if thats what I think it is its the fact they are are 'moshing' at raves. Its the whole aggression thing again, leave it outside the rave and actually RAVE no need to purposely bump into people who are just trying to have a dance.

But DSF against K is just funny. So many people in that thread like Slothrop havnt got a clue how many ppl are on K at nights just bcos they're not sittin on the floor like a horse waiting for surgery. (when has this ever happend at a dubstep night lol?) The right amount of K gives you energy and makes you more talkative, like every other recreational drug used in raves. But like every other drug, especially alcohol, too much and your a mess. No need for a 13 page thread about it really but it is quite funny.

Don't worry its not putting me off at all. Joker is coming and im going to be there. I think im going to just be a little more aware os my surroundings. Hope this subheavy will be more about the music and less about the attitude.

What night was this dude? I think the last time i played to a particularly aggressive crowd was either the thekla or outside the uk!
I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.
