nice reply...

that's opinion not fact, so maybe keep your opinions to yourself if they're not going to help the OP.

but in making this comment i'm spamming the thread... What a hypocrite I am.

presets give me a good basis for understanding more how these programs work and what kind of sounds that can be made. right diversity bla bla bla, but how many loops do you use in your productions?

just looking for some new ideas and sounds to experiment with. if not then keep your whack ass presets.

peace

instead of asking for presets you should be asking for manuals... the presets that come with should be all the preset you need. everyone here is going to misinterpret you just as above and think you are asking for presets because you don't want to learn synthesis. none of us here use loops in productions, maybe sliced loops/breaks but definitely not intact. would sound terrible.

i think everyone would agree with me in suggesting that if you want to learn what kind of sounds a synth can make, you should start off with a clean subtractive synth like 3xOsc in FL Studio. that's how I learned. you'll realize that subtractive, FM, wavetable, additive, ... synths actually have more in common than it first appeared. the names just make them seem different. synths all have the same idea. learn one and you've only minor details to learn the rest... after a while you'll get an idea for the general signal routing of a synth and you'll be able to play any.. and from there you're already making all your own noises so who cares about presets anyway? i rarely play presets because they usually sound terrible in my opinion... DIY is a great way to get the sound you want faster.

Tons of wiki information on synthesis in the second post.

http://flstudio.image-line.com/help/htm ... %20OSC.htm

Really simple synth with no presets. Set Osc 1 to Sine, set the root note to C7 and turn Osc 2 and 3 vol to 0 and you have a sub-bass.

What I do is play with every synth I can get my hands on and read the manuals some times. I know, reading synth manuals sounds boring but it can get you really far with some understanding of synthesis. safe

cheers mate. i have used fl studio before but now i am on a mac and have been experimenting with many different programs for sound. my new favorite has become logic. transitioning has been a troublesome process for me however i realize i am finally coming closer to representing the music i wish to create. im fairly comfortable with working with synths just know there is a lot more to learn... for me that is. you are right presets are normally shite but with some tweaking its easy to get the sound you want.

plus i need to google some manuals :)

thanks for the trim advice.

see ya in the underground
