not sure if people have heard, but he's decided to close down the toasty boy thing.

toasty boy wrote: hello peeps

it may or may not have escaped your attention that i haven't made any new music/updated my page in a long long time.

well its probably no big shock that i'm winding down the toasty stuff.. the sort of music i want to make these days doesnt even remotely fit in with the whole toasty thing, so i thought it was time to draw this page to a close..

i dont want to make a song and dance about it, just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who supported me by listening to my stuff, or by messaging me on the myspace or by..... buying my music!

big big big big shout out to all the punters, djs and labels that supported me over the last few years!

peace and loveism

damo toasty
:)
the hardest thing to carve out in instrumental dance music is a clear cut recognizable "sound". a signature so to speak. i don't think anyone could argue that damo/toasty had some of the most instantly recognizable beats out there.

you knew exactly when toasty tunes dropped. no one has come close to his mixdowns or sound design !! no one!!!

the echoing samples, panning reverbs, snares...i could go on and on. legendary!!!

damo, if you read this, you should be scoring soundtracks!!! you're too much!! i wish you the best bro! thanks for the tunes and memories! you will be missed!

R.I.P a true bassweight legend. you will be sorely missed, in a scene laden with originality YOURS seemed to stand out every time and really capture, for me anyway, just what dubstep should be about - a fat snare, a rolling riddim and dense, swirling sub-bass. your bits always sounded so fresh, even tho knowlegde is a few years old it could well have been made yesterday, or even in 10 years time, and it would have exactly the same impact.

tears.... :(

What kind of music is he making nowadays, then?

Goes without saying that Toasty is an absolute badman, not many producers are on his level.

i remember the first time i heard this tune was in one of your sets, mashed up with 'lost city'. i nearly fell out of my chair. a producer who's going to be sorely missed, no doubt about it.

Toasty was one of my favourite producers out there along with vex'd and the old hyperdub stuff.

His music was so much ahead of it's time that you can call him the photek of dubstep/grime.
