'step into the arena.

Post by arcadeperfect » Thu Sep 28, 2006 8:27 am

Hello.
I thought I'd say hello to people proper having signed up to this forum yesterday night.
I found this site having searched for a Tempa release I bought & was researching.
I am a 'Dubstep' virgin and was looking for a place to find out more about this wierd and wonderfull scene.
I tend to listen to DubElekroHip-HopTechnoIndustrialIndiependentAvant-GuardePostPunk generally and from what little I've heard from this scene I've really enjoyed.
It has to be said that me & my record collection have been yearning for more underwater off beat space sounds.

I am now mentaly disabled following an accident with a truck last year and I'm looking to re-kindle my love for music, (which has along with my body, taken a beating).
So if I seem a little 'odd' there is a good chance that my head hitting the truck is the reason.

I was hoping that some of you may be able to highlight different, (but good and fresh sounding), recordings for me to check out.??!??

Thankyou & Hello again!
:D

errrr?

isnt this just a label that presses out battle records? it's d-style's (aka - the wax fondler) sublet from dirt style, even tho it's labeled under dirt style.

im probally coming off as a prick, but im just wondering, but how are you finding dubstep through an old battle record? alot of the isp battle records have REALLY slow breaks on them, but really...

huh??? :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Well, (to me), that Album has about 4 deep and s-l-o-w breaks, giving plenty of space to scratch in a way that was, at the time, a different style.
Deep, slow and Dub style, and I've been looking for ways to practice in that style since around 2002. The only other way I thought of acheiving that sound and style was by getting a pair of PDX2000's, using the hyper pitch and playing battle breaks at -30 or something, or waiting for DubStep to take off.
Of coarse this has typically happened now that my scratching ability has dropped off, (pretty much at the same time as my disability 'appeared').

Ho-hum
