I have been listening to Christian Fennesz quite a bit lately.
But yeah man you named all the "classic" ambient creators there seckle.
I enjoy ambient music on occasion.

"The Pearl" doesn't sound dated at all.
Strate, Stalker, Trances/Drones, Fissures and Seven Veils come to mind.selector.dub.u wrote:i never thought I would see the words jam the fuck outta and ambient musicProduct wrote:i used to jam the fuck outta some Robert Rich

My experience of Ambient:
-Brian Eno
-Harold Budd
-Susumu Yokota - No one's mentioned him yet, Magic Thread is a great LP
-Biosphere - Insomnia OST is especially divine
-(A bit of) Global Communication
Not heard any Fripp or Rich though.
All good stuff - nice to see the dubstepforum crew joining musical dots!

i listen to a great deal of 'Ambient' music.
A large amount of music i create would probably be considered 'Ambient'.
Not trying to belittle anybodys personal taste, but i personally think Sasumu Yakota is one of the most overated producers i have encountered. He should just stick to formulaic House music, he's more adept at the 'by the numbers' game. heh
