BIZZY B

SPACELASERLION FTW!!1
Just a quick word about a really hot new release on Planet MU featuring one of my personal heroes-Brian Johnson. Better known as BIZZY B! Planet MU is no stranger to good jungle having released “Soundmurderer”, an amazing anthology by another hero of mine-Remarc. This new retrospective contains some of the most seminal tunes from Bizzy B’s back catalog. I consider myself very lucky to have been 13 years old and RAVING MY FACE OFF to these tunes as they were coming out. AND HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO JOIN IN THAT FUN! The ideas and approaches from Brain Studio’s output at that time were unparalleled and still are even today. This music is authentic darkside junglism insanity! Drawing influences from dub, techno, hiphop, rnb…but taking to a place so far…so futuristic and abstract that we still haven’t caught up, all while maintaining funky-militant-dancefloor-brutality. At a time when people were struggling to loop breakbeats just to make some cheesy piano hits with pitched up vocals, Bizzy and crew were chopping and screwing and timestretching amens and really pushing what could be done with the most simple equipment (Amiga’s and early AKAI s-series samplers) creating the language of state of the art beat-programming that has influenced many serious artists in all of music since (if they know it or not). Bizzy B took a lot of people under his wing (people like Peshay and Equinox) and was eager to show them how to produce and by doing so learned a lot himself while having a blast and it really shows in this music. These songs all originally came out on 4track eps with really really ghetto pressing (it was 1993 afterall) so I’m excited to see a whole new generation of people getting exposed to this stuff in hi-fi!

You'll not go wrong with these...
Getting shot of years worth of collection.
Just for your info, I've got a stack of Jungle Mania Albums from early to mid nineties if that's what you're looking for.
I also have an extensive ragga/dancehall/reggae collection that's primed to go. Tan Yah, Fashion, Greensleeves, etc...
