introducing mixcloud : an new website for DJs

Hi

I'm Georgia from Mixcloud.com, a new website that’s just gone into beta, that helps DJs distribute and promote their mixes and radio shows more effectively, whilst helping fans easily discover relevant DJs and content.

We were getting frustrated with the ubiquitous "MegaRapidFileUpload" file sharing services that are currently used by DJs and so we decided to do something about it.

Feel free to have a look around the site, it's already filling up with mixes and shows from a whole host of DJs and artists, everyone from Tiefshwarz to Atomic Hooligan, Dixon to Jesse Rose.

We’ve set up a special invite code for users of this forum, so if you want to hear their content and share your own, just click on 'sign up' in the top right hand corner and use invite code : dubstep.

We hope you enjoy the site.

Im having the same problem...I tried variants: dubstep, Dubstep dub step Dub Step "Dubstep"... but nothing.

Had no problems signing up, "dubstep" worked fine.

It's the sign up page.

Robyn - yep it's streaming only. We are working on negotiating with the copyright collection agencies so that this is a legal platform to listen to mixes, and so it must be streaming only. Download for mixes would be impossible to get licensed.

In a world of ever increasing broadband and mobile devices, most people seem to be pretty content with this.

Hi flight,

nothing to do with Soundcloud. Just a coincidence with the names

The services are quite different. We're much more about helping DJs and radio folk distribute and promote their shows to fans/listeners more effectively. We have a focus on filtering content to enable listeners to find what they want quickly and easily.
