I've also got these horrible high frequencies in my ears all the time and I fucking hate it. Our generation is going to go deaf if we're not careful.

Advice? EARPLUGS. I wouldn't go to any event without the £12 jobbies I bought a few months ago now. At the last DMZ, I couldn't tell if I had them in or out by about 3am.

buy some plugs mate

there's no cure for tinnitus, the only thing you can do is stop making it worse...

google up these plugs: ER 25

only one pair of ears for life

i got Alpine Music Safe plugs, costed me 14 euros.
silicon plugs which fit almost everyone, with 2 filters

125 250 500 1000 2000 4000 8000 (frequency in Hz)
filter1 14,8 15,0 15,7 18,7 26,6 24,4 18,9 (reduction in dB)
filter2 18,8 15,6 16,0 18,5 27,7 28,9 22,0 (reduction in dB)

only positive things:
the sound is better, no overdriving highs (your ears can't handle it that loud and high, so the total sound is distorted), no overal distortion because of the loudness.
you can hear voices better, because those frequencies are less filtered compared to the background noise/music.
they last just as long as you take care of them.
clean it with handwarm water and some soap.
the first few times you feel and hear some difference, but after a while you get used to it, and with some soundsystems want to have them in because the sound is so shitty.

i feel club's should warn visitors about the high volumes, and provide protection (at least those foam shitty ones, who deform the sound awefully, but still offer some protection), or just sell those silicon things that are around 20 bucks a set. you can last a lifetime with those.

Supposedly piracetam helps for prevention as well as improving tinnitus once the damage has already been done. I've taken small doses daily for a few years, and can't remember the last time I got tinnitus, despite going to a few nights unprotected (I know, I know...).

Of course the best cure is prevention, so get yourself a high grade pair of plugs.

Pubmed is your friend: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/

Search for "piracetam tinnitus".

A google search yields more results, but some of them come across as biased, because they're selling it. I don't blame the skepticism frankly - I take piracetam and other nootropics so that I'm more switched on, which is their intended use, the tinnitus reduction is just a nice side effect.
