how essential are they and what can you do with them?

ive only been producing abit and ive never used a midi keyboard.

isn't essential but is very very easy when you have ;]

you can record and play instead of having to draw everything in with your mouse, if you have any keyboard experience you should def get one, soon ull forget what it was like drawing in melodies

so i can do the bassline with the keyboard instead of fuckin about clickin things in n that?

can i set a different sample to different keys so i can make beats n that

i want to do something like that so i can make dubstep beats n shit man.

I play all my drums and pads and.. well everything with my midikeyboard. So for me it's essential because i got used to it over the years.

But it's not essential to produce in general, alot of people i know produce without one..

It does speed up your workflow by 75% though! :wink:

there are cheap ones around if you just want to try it out, they do make life easier but you have to get used to it.

haven't used a midi keyboard since i bought renoise. i sold mine to esh. what a sucker.

Why don't you just play it and then set some false notes right?
I can';t play, well a bit though, but still produce with playing everything. Just adjust them saves more work and the fun increases....
