We've done this since the first release. just take a look at the blog on our myspace page.

It's also the reason our 6blocc mix (Analog Clash) comes with a second disc of all the 12"s LoDubs released to that date.

i agree this is a good idea, but if one person buys the vinyl with the download data inside. all they have to do is upload it and anybody can get it for free.
mybe they could copy protect it or something??

I understand what your saying, I've recorded all of my vinyl in.... used a crappy bitrate now I have to do it all again. I am not looking forward to that at all!!... almost considered rebuying flacs of some releases just to get clean recordings I can play with ease from my pc,

funds are just way to tight to stretch to that given the overall cost of the vinyls in the first place eaak...

buy vinyl and get 320kbit mp3 for free! that`s ok with me!
BUT that seems likkle bit naive. you don`t make any money with sellin vinyl. except you sell thounds of copies!

as a label ypou need that extra money from the digital sale!

if i made/released tunes, i'd chuck a cdr with the tunes on in with the vinyl, as the additional cost of this is minimal.

if the tunes were gonna be released digitally then you'd also presumably have mastered versions to do this with, which would be nice.

It would be big to get the 320 mp3's with your vinyls, because as everybody else my vinyl -> pc recordings sound bad.
Still I understand they extra problems labels get with this.

A better idea would be that the stores gave the 320's, not the labels.
For example: chemical-records does both digital and vinyl. They sell a release from, for example Skreamizm vol.5, and they contact Tempa and ask if they have 320's they can give away with the vinyl. If they agree, the option for the buyer would be to get the 320's with the record, for 1£ extra. 0.50£ goes to chemical-records for bandwith charges etc., 0.50£ goes to Tempa.

That's a really good idea and probably one that could work honestly. It gives both entities a bit more of a shot to profit on the sale of vinyl(break even more like) and gives people a chance to support vinyl and play digital if they choose.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but Soul Motive does this dont they? I recieved a little piece of paper with a website address and then they emailed me 320s of joker/trg.
But on a side note, if you bought the vinyl, have a turntable, a computer...you can very easily record it and make it a wav/flac/mp3 etc.

To be honest its not hard to make a good rip of your own vinyls. What I do is make sure my record/needle/area the decks are in are dust free then prior to letting the whole tune record check the levels so that you don't peak anywhere ( I know this can be hard for the low end sometimes but it may be depending on the quality of the mixdown etc that you might have to do with a couple of the lowest frequencies being lost which without a top quality system you wouldn't realise its missing) Also another factor that I noticed was that even with top quality needles the weight needs to be adjusted according to the the quality of the wax or you get that very very faint feedback noise.

I'm using Native instruments Audio 8 DJ and Adobe Audition.

The deck goes straight into the soundcard, which has a phono pre-amp in it.
When I play a record it sounds great on this setup.

But when I play back a recording it sounds less dynamic.

The signal going to the mixer must be the same signal going down the USB cable into the computer, so I am baffled.

Digital files that I have bought sound really good playing from the computer too so I obviously doing somthing wrong with my recording.

I mean the recording doesn't sound horrific but I can definately tell the difference.

Yes! definitely. I thought it was very cool of soul motive to do this, and it saves the vinyls!
