Glade Festival - thoughts?

Post by promo » Tue Apr 07, 2009 1:28 pm

Anyone considering this? Its gonna be in Winchester which is kinda near my patch. :D

I notice that Juan Atkins is playing so its looking tempting and there is a BLOC stage.

Anyone got the low down on the doooobstep presence?

Peees.

Sunday last year was pure a pure savage-sandwich.

Can't wait for this year. Nothing like collapsing on the the clean grass in the sun with a cider, before avin' it large

I'm just saying yes. I've been every time and this was gonna be my first year off cos, well, it was getting a bit shit, but this one is going to be FIRE from the looks of it.
If you click on the different stages on the website there is one HELL of a lineup a gwan...

www.gladefestival.com

As for 'step, how about Digital Mystikz, Nagual Sound Experiment, Baobinga & ID, Markomen, Downshifter, Benga, Drop The Lime, Toddla T, Tayo, Reso, Starkey, Rusko Live, Tomb Crew, Kid606?

I've heard this is only a shadow of the lineup too, the Overkill tent hasn't been announced at all yet, and THAT'S usually the dubstep stage!!

Yeah, I'm keeping an eye on the overkill stage to see who else crops up. I guess the only reason I've never gone to this is 'cause its so heavily on a psy trance tip but I guess even I can dance to a bit of psy when pushed.

If you like techno, then this year is the one,
they've got Juan Atkins playing, for anyone who doesnt know, this guy is responsible for starting techno back in Detroit in the 80's
Underworld, Booka Shade, Squarepusher, Dave Clarke & Mutant Clan (timo mass & santos new collaboration) just to name a few are all amazing dance acts worth checking out if you go, propper high calibre dance music
Its such a good festival
drum & bass wise, in the past, its not really that on it, but pretty much everything else is there.
I did see Congo Natty play one of the best jungle sets ive seen for a long time in the overkill tent
The cool & deadly vs dublime tent will be full of rinsing dubstep and big beat dub

Theres so much going on at this festival, anyone who hasnt should go at least once, you'll probably end up going again

I played there in 2007, it took us 8 hrs to get in because of the floods, it was a mud fest all weekend but fuck me it was more than worth it.

Me n Tom r thinking about making the trip back to the uk for it this year..

Is glade a over 18 festival? Never been..perhpas due to me being 17...

Its complete torture for me being 17 because every time theres some sick line up i'm just not fucking old enough. its horrible e.g global gathering.
ANyone know if its strict or not at the gates? Would absolutly love to go..i mean digital mystikz live = haunted anti war dub spongebob but if i do buy a ticket and get turned down..
i can always break in i spous..easy enough in some cases but would really like to just go with a ticket tbh...
BOOMsHaNKA!an interception!

It is, but well, I've been every year. It started in 2004, and I'm 20 now, so as they say "you do the math"...

this festivals is the shit, been last 3 years. And left the last 3 years with a big phat smile on my face. :D :D :D so wat about sound issues last year it wasnt their fault and they did their best (which was sick). And the year before that who could have predicted biblical weather conditions and they got through that. Go to glade and youll see the best music, visual arts festival in the world they know how to do it BIG
