i guess the point i was originally trying to make is that a bunch of junior dj's at 15-16 years old are not learning to actually mix music.

We might as well all get traktor or ableton and let it auto synch our music for us so we can spend more time with our hands in the air in true tiesto style.

Dubstep is a good style of music with regard to groove and variety, and it can be challenging to mix if you are really working that angle. But to get up on stage and take 5 Bar9 tracks all at exactly 140 bpm, you are missing out.

Its the chavs that think its easier to mix dubstep than hardstyle because its already pitch locked for you.

Personally i would rather the chavs stay with hard house & hardstyle.

i agree. if you can't mix a song at 137 with a song at 142, then you ain't a dj.

i like the fact that some producers vary their tempos slightly for the different sound of different tunes.

I am 16 and I feel offended
Mixing isn't only about beatmatching. Ok, beatmatching is important (and yes, I can), but it's more important to find fitting tunes and to make your mix interesting.
Even if dubstep had more variable tempos it would still be about finding the best tunes for your mix. Also, many big DJ's or producers start very young, simple example: skream.

Also there is a lot of variation in tempo, my decks aren't at the same pitch that often.

Make it a few bpms slower or faster then. The DJ is just going pitch it match whatever they are playing it into.. kind of pointless IMO.

Fuck, let me look in my book of reasons why this is completely and utterly pointless. If you erase beatmatching out of the questions, that gives you more time to think about the next song, fiddle with acapellas, FX if the mixer can do so.

Instead of mixing a tune then having to straight mix your next one is really boring when you can do that + have the time to do whatever you think is going to add to your set. Nahmean?

Wrong kind of people?!!? Dubstep is for anyone and everyone. If my nan likes dubstep and wants to play a whole Bar 9 set then thats brilliant. I'd think that is fucking amazing. If 15- 16 year olds like and want to mix then let them. To much negativity. Not enough love!
