I think grime is in for a comeback...

the choppy rhythms are back with funky, and the dubstep sound is getting more 'colourful' in places.

Definitely be a good thing - I think the whole mix-and-match approach of Starkey, Joker, the Scottish crews etc can only be good for grime producers.

But it'll only be a good thing if they remember grime's raw production and don't try and over egg it. That lo-fi but still tough vibe is what all bass music needs to counteract the drum&bass-style overproduction that can take over if producers don't watch themselves and start getting into too much studio wanking.
