..... so I'm told by a
ahem reliable source that recent episodes of
Neighbours have used a Pirate Radio Station playing Dubstep as a plot device. Couldn't find any of this on YouTube myself.
On behalf the Australian Dubstep Community, I would like to apologise in advance of these screening in the UK & add that AFAIK we have had no part in this further commoditization of the sound. I can only speak for myself when I say I don't condone these movements into the mainstream, but even my peers here that don't agree with me on that would probably agree
Neighbours is the least ideal or worthy vehicle to push it there.

..... until it becomes the reason someone gets shanked on the show or something similar (it's so predictable) leading to further stigmatisation/demonisation of the genre in our domestic mainstream media- and possibly yours too.....

Lol. Shards mate, this is funny. Ease up.
I doubt very much this is even true, let alone warrants such alarmist pre-emptive assumptions.
(PS: I remember seeing a Cypress Hill poster on the wall of Toadie's studio!)

Also, what is this demonisation/stigmatisation of our genre in mainstream media that you speak of?
Aren't they too busy reporting GHB OD's at trance raves for little ol' dubstep to even register more than a blip on the contemporary mediascape?

are they actualy playing dubstep, cos i watched it tonight and they had some song on it was more like slow hip hop or something, i went onto the neighbours forums and it had all these kids saying either,
"it plays really weird music thats why its a pirate raio station cos they play alternative music" or
"if that was a radio station i would listen to it 24/7"
haha oh well, guess we have to see how it pans out.
