now that i think about it..
my amp isnt great either. most my stuff is handed down from my pops, he used to handle a lot of sound and whatnot.
its a Sony STR-DE595 av reciever, which isnt treating me nicely.
so what now? amp, then monitors? i down really have a range because these are things im definitely saving up for over some months here, but i could see myself spending more than around a $1000 for both.
and heh.. 'top of the line' probably wasnt the best choice of words. how about 'nicer monitors'?
thanks so much for all the feedback so far..
suggestions from here??

If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 miles per hour, you're going to see some serious shit.

new frustration
so i've done a little research and found that i want passive monitors for a couple reasons, but mainly because i would like to upgrade my system as i please.
good idea? bad idea?
from here i don't really know what kind of amp i should get. since i'm mainly into having it for my personal production and home use, should i be looking at studio monitor amps or amps with multiple speaker outputs?
and shit..
since i'm only just getting started should i just get powered monitors and not risk running my equipment incorrectly (saving myself the headache)?
