Its in the wire, so expect it to be pretty thick with pretentious language.

its not that bad actually. the wire takes some stances on things but they don't go overboard.

The only case of The Wire going TOO overboard is their hip-hop section. I bought a bunch of issues earlier in the year, and I kept going, "Huh? Wha? Did you really get ALL THIS from David Banner?"

The wire is a slightly odd magazine. Sometimes they write the most horribly unreadable articles on really obscure subjects, but they sometimes get it perfect going into a good depth and giving you a really good insight into the artist - the boards of canada article from a few years back was incredible. Looking forward to picking this up.

yeah think the guy you mean is dave tompkins
if chris morris wrote hip hop reviews they'd be like this except this guy appears to be at least semi serious
hilarious tho whether its meant to be funny or not!
i think the wire's a great read btw, always tons of really unusual stuff

on a somewhat related topic, can anyone in new york please record kode's set tonight @ brainfeeder?
supposed to be a special burial set.
also, my favorite issue of the wire is the one with the lee perry & scott walker from may '95. the wire is one of the best music publications around, and has been for some time now.
