Sadly, Ive just fallen into the Dubstep scene in 2009!!!! My first real exposure was probably Skream's rmx of La Roux - In for the Kill and the Snoop Dogg and Chase & Status rmx - Snoop Dogg Millionaire. Those two were both heard on BBC Radio 1 and that sound just blew me away...and Ive been in the rave/dance scene since 98! Totally cool choons! Love my new found genre!

the first track started with a sample of johnny depp from the movie blow. he says:

"this is grade "A" one hundred percent pure columbian cocaine ladies and gentlemen, disco shit."

and then there's that sample of the guy saying:

"i can't feel my face"

then the darkest beat comes in. so sick. STILL DON'T EVEN KNOW THE NAME OF THE TUNE TO BE HONEST. IF SOMEBODY KNOWS IT, PLS TELL ME. that was the tune that got me into dubstep.
that tune is n-type - tolerance. sick tune
thanks so much dude.

26 Basslines is the first one that properly stood out to me.

and

That Skream tune with the woman orgasming in it, heard it on an N-Type Rinse.fm show from '06 I think, and I'm sure it's still not been released!

Not sure what the first dubstep track I heard was but the first one that got me excited was ‘Pop Pop’ by Vex’d.

Still a tune.

I think the first time I rocked dub in my discman, it was an album called Return to Umoja, produced by Dennis Brown.

First dubstep tune for me was Midnight Request Line, on the Breezeblock show. It was played a few times on that show and it was the common thread that got me skankin. I think it really connects things. What did Skream say about dubstep on that show? Can't remember, it was perfect.

If Plastician and Mrk 1 make dubstep, then some of their early tunes, but it was Haunted that stole me from grime and dropped me into dubstep (cheers Mala & Coki)

Enigma by Deck-O. This guy from Brazil I don't know if he's popular. It was on YOUTube. I was looking for production videos. I was like what the hell is dubstep? Changed me life ever since.

The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it,

because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.
