plastician was a influence in that snoop dogg track being made, and im pretty sure he played a remix he did of it on his last show, with some nice spacial bassline business.

also, plastician if you read this, is your next hype remix seeing 12"? and any info on those om unit terrorhythm releases, they are some nice tracks?

Also.... the dubstep scene is a lot bigger than this forum.

A lot of people on here are blinkered and believe this to be untrue.

Yeah but some people are very narrow minded and actually believe that everyone knows everything about dubstep... Where as truth be known, there are still kids out there that like dubstep and are just getting into it and havent even heard the orginal Eastern Jam! I moved into a new flat and have converted all my new flatmates with those big tunes, Benga Nights, Skream midnight request... list goes on
As for the Snoop remix (I'm about the only one in my crew) but I rate it! I loved Snoop back in the day and its good to see a hip hop artist with some cred getting into dubstep!

I agree that the forum is all about airing opinions.

I just thought this was a pretty strange topic given the fact its common sense that the acapellas i drop are not going to be to everyone's taste.

I know dubstep community is bigger than this and i don't usually get involved that much with the forum but i thought i'd give it a go.
I think it's sort of a given that when snoop dogg vocaled eastern jam it was fairly lazy, and in all honesty, it just sounded shit. It sounds much better when you blend the accapella with better instrumentals, but still, it's snoop dogg, trying to cash in on dubstep, and that seems to take the whole genre a step back because famous people are jumping on board and saying "hey this is an in thing, maybe a i could make money off this".
Like a say, i know you can't please everyone and i don't think you should change anything you do in your dj sets, i was just seeing if people were into it or not. Personally, i'm not. I work in music too and people are always going to have negative and positive things to say, just when people get big everyone is way to quick to dismiss the negative and can't see the truth through rose tinted glasses. Fair enough if they enjoy it, but people should still be willing to except criticism, that's what art is all about.

sure, it just took him 4 years to find it and when he finally did he decided to vocal the most famous track going at that time.
You're probably right, he's got a load of tracks where he is spitting of a load of old Loefah tunes and some coki too.
Even if he did, the track still sounds shit. Who records a girl singing in an indian style, over the top of a track which already has an indian vocal sample in? It just sounds like shit.

Snoop Dogg is cynically trying to cash in on being popular? That's one of the funniest things I've read on this forum ever. They have their own fairly successful and popular form of music over there you know?

I was probably wrong with the money comment i made but i can't help but feel he has an another motive, or he only likes that one Chase & status tune.

It's hard, and probably pointless, to put everything in a genre, but it has to be done for sensible reasons. I just don't want it to get to the point where i go to a shit club full of people pissed of £1 a pint listening to the latest popular dubstep joint, in the way that electro is currently.
Can't be too fucked to keep arguing because i only wanted to get opinions, not start an argument, especially on a forum like a pussy.

OVERLY popular.
All to often i've been going to small gigs and seen the support DJ basically play the following tracklist:
Chase & Status - Eastern Jam
Chase & Status - Saxon
La Roux - in it for the kill (skream mix)
Benga - Night
The entire of Skreamizm vol 6.

Some of these tunes are good, but it's kinda like having a colour by number book and just doing the rest.
