Plenty of shit djs out there, to be sure.steshine wrote:OVERLY popular.
All to often i've been going to small gigs and seen the support DJ basically play the following tracklist:
Chase & Status - Eastern Jam
Chase & Status - Saxon
La Roux - in it for the kill (skream mix)
Benga - Night
The entire of Skreamizm vol 6.
Some of these tunes are good, but it's kinda like having a colour by number book and just doing the rest.
Plastician's choice of accapellas
oh my god, please stop picking holes in everything.

A lot of people on here are blinkered and believe this to be untrue.
this is a message board and enough people think that this is the sum total of dubstep.
perspective people. music is about creativity and enjoyment.
there's constructive criticism and then there's waste threads.

For the record (and this is the last time i will ever speak about snoop dogg on this forum) Snoop Dogg's people have been accepting beats from me and various dubstep producers and labels for possible usage on his next album.
He is very much a fan of the stuff he's hearing. Just because the man is a record breaking musician doesn't mean everything he does is motivated by money.
This whole thing started because snoop posted some stuff on his twitter about dubstep - in particular the chase and status track.
Nobody has even mentioned that since he twittered the track, he has also linked his twitter followers to tracks by Om Unit and a couple of other dubstep producers. These are not even things I or anyone else has forwarded onto him, he has been scouring the web and listening to radio shows and tracks off his own back in his spare time.
Give the man a break.

That's weird, I could have sworn this thread was titled "Plastician's choice of Accapellas" not the 5th thread to slag off Snoop Dogg.
Unless people have an opinion or something to say on topic about this thread, go to the others that slag off Snoop Dogg. Unless this is a request for me to change the title?

You were the one bringing it up yourself - and your entire argument around the acapellas I play seems to be based on the fact that you hate the snoop track and the migraine skank?steshine wrote: As for plastician making millionaire, i'm not so sure. The forum went f'ing mad when this was first heard and it's clear that no-one really likes the song as we're already sick of eastern jam, and twats jumping on the dubstep train, so why would anyone continue to play this track?
I'm not having a go, just trying to explain why this topic has turned into a discussion about snoop dogg's tune. You came out bashing the acapella which is exactly the same as bashing the tune.
Which acapellas would you like to hear? There aint too many more vocal dubstep tunes about.

Back in the dayz we used to sit cross legged in a circle at DMZ and signal the DJ with joss sticks.
Like i said, wasn't trying to make an argument just curious to see what everyone was saying about migrain skank accapella etc... Seriously, not trying to put you down or anything, but those two tunes i mentioned were tracks i don't personally like, but i remember when you played 50 cent - AO technology, that was wicked, and same with Uncle Sam accapellas.Plastician wrote:steshine wrote:That's weird, I could have sworn this thread was titled "Plastician's choice of Accapellas" not the 5th thread to slag off Snoop Dogg.

It's just an opinion, which i think i'm entitled too.
I'd like to just drop this thread now because it's just a bit stupid really, off topic and not what people really want to read on this forum (well, i know i don't).
Sorry if i offended you Plastician, just wanted to get some feedback, one of the most important things in music.
As for accapellas, some good grime vocals: Real things, next hype, intensive snare, stuff like that (again it's only opinion).
PS. Please let me know how the gig in Birmingham was, My mates said Joker killed it, but they didn't mention you or Chef.

I aint offended at all mate. I know its not to everyone's taste so its cool if you don't like the acapellas. I'm glad you're listening in the first place so big up.

Birmingham gig was pretty wack but the people were all really safe and seemed to enjoy it still.
Oceana 80s room is definitely not the look for a gig.
You know when the doorman is asking for your ID even after you've explained that you are playing in there that its going to be one of those nights.
I was pleased with my set given the conditions we were working with (hold tight the wasteman sound engineer who told me off like a primary school teacher when i started setting up serato because he was insistent on setting it up himself).
Chef's set was sick as well, people were pretty much going nuts at the front all night which was nice. Can't fault the crowd they were all in high spirits. Even though drinks were not permitted on the dancefloor.
Do i need to go on in more detail about why oceana must never host a dubstep night ever again?

LOL at those points, That's crazy, my mates told me about the drinks thing, said she wasn't loving that situation, especially as her shoes broke and was bare foot all night. That's pretty much what i'd have expected the result to be, but glad you had a good time still.Plastician wrote: You know when the doorman is asking for your ID even after you've explained that you are playing in there that its going to be one of those nights.

there should be definite outlines agreed before playing a dubstep set.
1. payment
2. system size (if it's not loud enough, one must not play dubstep)
3. the only bouncers allowed must be yardies
with these strict rules set in place, dubstep will carry on being super cool.
cooler than this topic.
i wish there was a full stop button you could push on threads.
big up plastician
