come on guys, you may as well just tell him the truth
in reason, if you push alt+F4 it brings up a bass control panel which you can assign to various patches you've made. it effects a chosen frequency range (in your case, if you're looking for mids, you'd choose the 'Ras' section), and it effects the grittiness (the 'Clat') section.\
that's how you get started!

yea dude those tutorials are extremely helpful. not to mention its just a bit of insight on his pad and set up.
check out LFO to filter frequency tutorials as well. i've found some of those to be real useful.
