Skream - Metal mouth + What did he say

Post by batman » Sat May 02, 2009 12:09 am

I love skream to pieces. Great great producer.

but the two new tracks on his myspace "metal mouth" and "what did he say?" ARE the same tune.

seriously.

they are a great tune, but in all seriousness they are almost exactly the same.

big up skream all the way, but it's just picking at me that no1 is mentioning how similar they are.

Listening to them both side by side I can see where your coming from, they obviously aren't identical but they are extremely similar, in terms of the main synth line and sound at least anyway.

i have to kind of disagree. They're similar in vibe... but they sound pretty different and you can tell them apart easily... especially because what did he say has more of a "ya-ya" thing going on.

I have to say I'm not really feelin' this tune. Seems kinda dull and forgetable imo.

I agree, but Metal Mouth is still guaranteed to get me skanking and shaking like a washing machine using Red Bull instead of laundry detergent...or something.

It really feels to me like skream is getting stuck on that sound. Not just his productions, but his selection too :|

Although, at the same time he can still produce breathtaking new stuff in seemingly any style he wants to turn his hand to, he just seems to be turning it to the (imo) horrid, unlistenable, soulless mid range metallic shite faaaar too much. Never losing faith in him though, when he can casually turn round and bring out something like one for the heads who remembers in the middle of what was my least favourite skreamizm, you just know the ingenious skream is still in there somewhere :D

100% agree - Skream IS sick, you only have to listen to tunes like Backwards to hear that, I can't stop mixing that track!

But yes, I am sad that so much of his output nowadays is mid range GRRR.

I understand it's not our place to decide other people's musical directions, and I think skream will make some amazing music once he gets bored of the GRR stuff.

I'm a big fan of skreams newest tunes, I think metal mouth, what did he say and what the fuck are you lookin at, are all disgustingly dutty tunes

If one of them gets a release, it MUST be Memories of a 3rd base, it has been in the player for a while and such a big tune.

And don't hurt us with your plans, Mr. Jones.
