Audio Housekeeping and managing workload

Might seem pretty obvious to most, but I've spent quite a few hours today going through kick samples that were lacking the required oomph, adding a bit of eq and compression so that they'll sound good off the mark and save time trying to fix them at the mixing stage.

Trouble is that I've already done a shit load of tunes where I've just loaded in a ton of kick samples and then just auditioned them along the keyboard to find the ones I like, so I'm going to have to locate the individual kicks I'm using and then process the sample accordingly. This is a very long and tedious process however, so hopefully when it's done I'll be able to get things done far quicker by having a range of samples that should all sound mint from the off and require less tweaking at the mixing stage.

Anyone got any tips or tricks to suggest that might improve matters?
