Scuba is the alias of Paul Rose, founder of foundation Dubstep labels Hotflush and Scuba Recordings. His early shows on pirate radio in London led to a close involvement with the beginnings of the scene that became known as Dubstep.
The debut Hotflush release hit the street in 2003 and the label has gone on to become one of the most distinctive and innovative Dubstep labels. With a catalogue of over a dozen singles featuring scene leaders such as Shackelton, Benga, DJ Distance, Boxcutter, Search and Destroy, Toasty Slaughter Mob and Vex’d to name a few, Scuba is considered a Dubstep visionary who’s own production explores the nuances of a style still pregnant with possibility.
